Are you thinking of Kyle Beach or something? I have yet to see this run-and-hide business from Schultz. Dirty on occasion, maybe, but he'll man up and fight, unlike half the Kelowna Rockets in this series.

To me, there is no dirtier play than attacking a player while he celebrates a goal, and a borderline hit doesn't even approach that level. The Rockets have topped the Hitmen for cheap, gutless plays this series, and tonight was no exception.

Total domination by the Hitmen. 50-19 shots on goal and Jones is back with his great goaltending.

If the Hitmen win by playing dirty and relying on the reffs to win they will lose my respect.

From your posts, they don't have your respect anyway. No loss.

Are you serious? Are you even watching the same sreies? Schultz man up and fight? He runs and hides from the Rockets smallest player.

No loss? You are right, they won't see me going to one their games. Now they lose money from people not going to their games.

I agree with you. I must add though that their is no dirtier player that hits a kid in the head.

Of which Kelowna has pulled numerous times.

Obviously the Rockets never got any game tape from the Lethbridge series. Play dirty and cheap all you want, Calgary doesn't respond, and in the end the only thing you are going to get for your efforts is to watch pucks get piled behind your goaltender as you sit from that lonely little box at centre ice.

And you really need to stop crying long enough to go change your diaper. Savage and Kirk were calling phantom penalties all night in favour of Kelowna. It isn't the officials fault that Kelowna's powerplay is as impotent as an old man who's Viagra perscription has run out.

Anyway, very clearly, the worm as turned in this series. The real question, of course, is whether we took too long in getting our game going. We're still at the point where only one little mistake can end the season. No room for error at all. If we weren't trying to come back from 3-0 down, I'd be supremely confident in our ability to win it all right now.

That said, the Rockets have to be gripping their sticks tight right now. Jones has been nearly unbeatable, and the Hitmen are just coming at them in waves. They are still in the drivers seat, but you can see them starting to sweat.

Just home from the game...

That hit by Schultz wasn't quite the cheap shot some people would have you believe. His elbow was down, and yes he caught Barrie with a shoulder to the head, but only because Schultz must have 4 or 5 inches advantage in height. (That's why you rarely see small guys in the pros.) The fact is Barrie had his head down and he got clobbered. I agree head shots are an issue that need to be dealt with, but Barrie left himself vulnerable. After the call was made, the refs even seemed somewhat apologetic.

As far as the rough stuff later in the game ... intimidation is still part of any extremely competitive sport. If you don't have the stomach for it then try watching figure skating.

Loved the act though. You could practically see the trainer saying "stay down, we might get a major out of this!"

Exactly. That's what I was telling the Rockets fan sitting beside me. "Look, you're boy is trying to suck a major or double minor out of the deal."

Act? With how lifeless he fell to the ice, I wouldn't be surprised if he was knocked out.

He got spun around and played possom.

Some interesting stuff on Alan Caldwell's blog about the "too-many-men" goal Calgary scored in game 4, as well as the non-goal due to Grantham's penalty. Apparently both were consistent with the rule book - check it out at http://smallatlarge.blogspot.com

Something comical about a Lethbridge fan, who defends Kyle Beach no less, calling another fan base a bunch of morons...

I forgot you saw a crappy internet video of the Medicine Hat incident.

That is a much better way to figure out what happened than actually being there and seeing the whole thing unfold.

But I guess it takes a lot of intelligence to make assumptions about a guy based on his reputation and not what actually happened throughout the season.

Slightly off topic, but what do our resident experts think of Andrew Bailey, Kootenay Ice?
A friend of mine is from the same small town.

I told her I'd only seen him play a handful of times, but thought he'd make an excellent submarine commander....(dive, dive, dive)

If anyone has anything nicer to say about his play, I could pass it on.

Thanks.

ps just to get into the spirit of the last page(s): Charging? Are you kidding? He coasted right into him.
Head shot yes, penalty not really.
