Well, about 6 episodes ago is when I lost interest. OK, I was a couple of weeks behind on the PVR and forgot to record a new show, and said forget it. I was thinking of picking it up again when they do the season recaps.
I do appreciate some of the postings in this thread- you guys have helped me at least keep a basic idea of what is going on.
Just one question for you all- are they still jumping through time, or have they solved that and some people are stuck in different times? OK- two questions.... I assume the Oceanic 6 (Jack et al) are back on the island now, right?

My personal theory is that Jack is Jacob (name is close, Jack might look like his dad in his old age... would setup an interesting dicotomy between him and Locke)

Jin, Miles, Sawyer, Kate, Jack, Hugo, Sayid, Daniel (dead), Juliette are stuck in 1977. Dharma Swan station construction era.
Ben, Locke, Sun, Frank are in 2007.
There seems to be a third group of people that crashed with the Oceanic 5 in 2007.
Rose and Bernard, whereabouts unkown.
Claire is still missing.

I didn't like how Richard looked like he wasn't in control, that bothered me, I always thought of Richard as being all knowing but I think he's quite confused. There was a woman in the present day crash that looks so familiar, I've been wondering if Locke is dealt with by Richard and Richard takes Ben as the leader and goes back to the 2004 timeline with the rest of them and they become the real 'Others' that we have all come to know while the others we think of are merely the kids from the 50's (soldiers) because Miles at one point said there are bodies of soldiers buried on the island.
I don't know why the story would arc this way it's just a guess. The woman I am referring to that is familiar is the black woman with the long beaded hair, you see a woman in Season 2 who finds the survivors of Oceanic and interrogates them, she also had freaky eyes.
Oh yeah and we end up not finding out who Jacob is which will piss us all off.

Did anyone think it was odd that how richard spoke to jack after the untied him, Jack asked richard "who is that man" and richard addressed Jack by his name. IF this is 1977, richard and jack have not met.

Yeah I noticed that as well and was wondering about how much Richard knows at any given time period or was it just a mistake? Or goes along with the theory that Jack is Jacob? LOL just another puzzler. Then there is the convo at the end with Ben and Richard--Locke could be trouble. As in what? His visit to Jacob upsets the applecart how? Well other than snuffin him and taking over.

I don't think its really possible for them to snuff out Locke. Remember that he's linked to the Island, it talks to him and he has a purpose. Someone might try to kill him, but the Island bought him back to life once.
Even though an entire hour long episode of Ben and Richard killing Locke and the Island bringing him back to life would be pretty funny.
Any thought that Jacob is actually Locke. And Locke needs to kill him to take his place?
I loved how they had Richard assembling the old flag sale in a bottle and then mentioning how ancient he was, they're either going to swerve us with the black rock thing or they're going to confirm it.
My guess is that the very last episode will feature all the members of Oceanic air lines flying over the Island and the crash doesn't happen this time because the Island's not there, and Locke isn't on the plane, its a final gift to his friends.

The problem with this is, most of them don't want to land in LA.

Maybe Locke gives them a choice. Stay or go.
Now that would be a funny ending. They try for years to get off the island. They return and then they decide they would rather stay there.

Another fantastic episode IMO.
I love how everything twists and turns and reveals ironic results at the end.
For example, for a long time Daniel was the one who supposedly knew what was going on, it appeared he knows what he is doing. However, he managed to realize that his own parents sent him to back to the island to die when it was too late. So infact, he was clueless all along.
Another example is Locke, who was apparently clueless to what was going on from day 1, is now calling the shots and is completely unpredictable to Ben and Richard. They have been leading him on all this time yet now they found themselves in Locke's shoes.

I swear, if they suddenly changed everything after building up the whole season on the basis of 'what happened, happened,' I'll flip. All of a sudden they're talking about, hey, yeah, maybe we CAN change everything?
Bah! And I love Lost. But that really grates at me. I am trying to rationalize it by saying it's still whatever happened, happened, and Jack, Daniel, Sayid, etc., always thought they COULD change things, but in reality, they weren't changing anything, just doing what had always happened.

well there's no way that Jack gets his way and everything goes back to "normal", that just ends the show right there and in a very unsatisfying manner. we saw with Daniel how he said that they can't change the past for so long, but when he started to believe that he could he ended up dying. i think something very bad is going to happen to Jack for trying to change things, maybe it's how he could end up becoming Jacob. then you could throw Locke in as somehow knowing all of this, and killing Jacob is a way for him to free Jack from some spiritual prison
or i could just be talking out of my ass

I hope so. On both counts. Jack being Jacob would be awful, IMO. Hopefully they finally reveal Jacob in his entirety in the finale so that all the Jacob is X theories will end! I believe Jacob is a completely separate entity, not any of the current cast.
Jack somehow getting the H-Bomb to explode would create so many paradoxes it wouldn't even be funny... Daniel's death after believing he could change things only reinstates my rationalization that him BELIEVING he could change things is what happened all along, and anything he did change or would have changed is what happened since the beginning, so he didn't really change anything. Same with whatever Jack does... Perhaps Jack and his bomb are responsible for the 'incident' at the Swan? Who knows. As long as they don't renege on the whatever happened, happened premise.
I must keep faith that they can make this finale decent. After a pretty good season, I've been rather disappointed by a few of the revelations lately.

I'm so lost. Still have no idea what is going on. I don't think I have the brain capacity required to understand this show.

Well I think the bomb might go off, but not in a way that would change anything for Jack.
For some reason Faraday's mom told him to go back in time even though she knew he would die. Either she just hated her kid, or him going back serves some major purpose for his mother. There has to be a reason he dies to, why wouldnt she just warn him about what was going to happen and approach the hostiles peacefully?
