It was pretty bad but like somebody else said there was a hilarious red card against Barcelona. Didn't even touch the guy, he just fell. (what a surprise thing to happen in a Soccer game!)

Soccer doesn't really have that white and darks home/away thing.

What happens is the home team gets first decision on their jersey. So say, Manchester picks red against Liverpool. That means Liverpool can't wear their reds. Liverpool's other colors are green and grey. They can pick either color that is clearly different.

Or, lets say Juventus plays Chelsea at home. Juventus decide they don't want to wear their typical black and whites, they go with their thirds, which is blue. Again, even though Juve isn't wearing their home (primary) jersey, Chelsea can't wear theirs either, and have to go black or yellow.

Most of the time, both teams can wear their primaries.

What a finish. I completely agree that the handball in the 81st was overlooked for the harsh decision on the sending off. Chelsea looked pretty good and I thought they were through.

What a disgrace Ballack and especially Drogba are. Going after the ref will prove nothing, i understand they are frustrated but the E'to "handball" wasn't even close really. Drogba lost his mind though, which I'll admit was pretty funny. He'll face a ban from UEFA now for sure

I'm just thankful I have someone to cheer for in the final.

That's what we call having more $ to spend than most other teams in Europe. Congratulations.

Most people don't realize how awesome this is. When you see 40 000 people singing it in unison, it means so much more.

I unfortunately was at work during this one, but nearly peed a little when I heard that Barcelona had scored after getting a red card. I'm going to a pub owned by a Chelsea fan for wings tonight (On the Rocks)...gonna give him a hard time.

You're kidding right? Liverpool with more money than Chelsea?
As far as spending is concerned there is Real Madrid, Man U, Chelsea and Barcelona....everyone else is very, very distant....

I'm not talking about this year. Wouldn't you agree that Liverpool has been in the top 5% of payroll in Europe going back 30 years?

If not, then you do have to admire their record.

Ducking and turning your back. Way to take one for the team!

Ah, that old chestnut. I guess by this mentality you also support the Oilers over the Flames?

Methinks going forward you would add Man City to that list.

Well Man City has boat loads of money, and there's every indication that they will be trying spending it when the transfer window opens up. The question is whether or not they can convince the top players to head to the blue side of Manchester.

		| Manchester United midfielder Darren Fletcher will miss the Champions League final after Uefa rejected an appeal against his red card in the semi-final. The 25-year-old was controversially sent off in the second leg of United's 4-1 aggregate win against Arsenal.
Italian referee Roberto Rosetti sent Fletcher off for what he saw as a foul on Cesc Fabregas and awarded a penalty.
Barcelona's Eric Abidal and Dani Alves will also miss the final after Uefa turned down their appeals.
 |
Regardless of what team you support this is a stupid flaw in UEFA's ruling system.

Player gets red-carded for an obvious referring error that is backed up by video evidence and they can't overturn the suspension as: "there is no formal procedure at Uefa for overturning refereeing decisions."http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/foot...pe/8042238.stm

Even Guardiola supported the appeal.

They need to change the system to protect players that have been carded as a result of refereeing errors. Champions League finals don't come round for players every odd year. To miss out on one on a human error that could easily be rectified but there is no procedure for said rectification is just stupid IMO.

Wow, Man U catches a huge break by dodging Dani Alves.
