A house cat subjected to toys all its life thinking the mouse was a toy too is not really a good example. It can happen in the wilderness, but such cases are extremely rare (orca's throwing seals out of the water over and over again another possible example).

So what's the case with an animal that has 'murdered' other animals? Are they free to be experimented on? Assuming of course that they were tried in a competent court and judged to be guilty by a jury of their peers. I've heard that it's particularly difficult to convince the rhinoceros of guilt beyond a reasonable doubt with even the strongest case.

The one narrated by Alec Baldwin, with the throat slashing and horn snipping?
Yeah, I did. It's nothing I haven't seen before.

Does anyone find it impossible to nail down a basic value system for vegans?

Well if you want to drive a car, why don't you go out mine the ore for the steel, smelt that stuff, forge and engine, drill a well for oil to run it, and tap some rubber trees for the tires. Or is the cowardly way preferable?
That's a ######ed argument. Welcome to the world of division of labour.
This is the problem I have with a lot of vegans. They make statements like this, like they somehow strengthen their argument.
Would he be justified if he said "I'm a farmer, I eat all my own pigs"
Am I justified in saying "I killed 4 deer last fall, and they were all delicious" because I did, and they were.
What is the piont of your argument?
Is eating things inherently wrong, or is it only wrong if someone else kills it?

See above post, what a weak argument. Your arguing an animal that kills for it's food is the same as a guy walking into a restaurant and gunning down 10 people cause he felt like it or had a bad dday. Ridiculous, try again!

What is the video going to accomplish?
Do you think that it will inflict enough guilt in whomever watches it that they will instantly see your point of view?

So if I eat an animal for food, why is that wrong?
Or is it only wrong when someone else kills my food?
When are you going to lecture Hyena's?

No but if your going to argue there is nothing wrong with buying meat which in turn supports the slaughter houses maybe you should see what your arguing against because most have no real clue how bad it is.

Why of course not, that would be ludicrous. As I said, the animal would need to be judged guilty of its crime by a jury of its peers.
If you didn't catch on already, I'm mocking the ridiculous of this entire argument. Continue though, it's keeping me entertained.

The people who lost work were the first ones to voice concerns in the 80s about the cod stocks despite the governments data and increased investment in fishing. Also the people who over fished the cod were the Spanish and Portugese. There's a reason why if you went to the West coast of Ireland, Cornwall in England and Brittany in France in the late 80's early 90s it wasn't uncommon to see a Canadian flag flying in fishing villages as a show of solidarity against the Spanish fleet.

Take a look at the panda (order carnivora) and the mess it's got itself into by being a fussy eater. Sooner it goes extinct and gets the Darwin award for animals the better.

So where do you draw the line on innocence?
Bears are omnivores, they could do just fine on berries and such, but sometimes they kill other animals, and occasionally they kill people.
Can we test on those bears?

It's not wrong, did I not post that is a person's choice?? What is wrong is the inhumane way it is done for commercial purposes. Want to eat a cow or pig, great, be my guest but kill the animal fast with no suffering! What is being done is wrong.
