I was honestly tired of Melissa's, "Woe is me" and "They're not letting me in." rants every 5 minutes. Good riddance to both of them. Joan's exit was super classy too. "A POKER PLAYER?!?!?... You have blood on your money!!" Relax, Joan... Have another facelift.
No WAY does 1 of those two deserve to be there - the other 2 who were fired were both far, far, superior to her.
The other was a no-brainer, of course.
Honestly the playboy bunny was pretty much useless, she road the coat tails of Annie right to the finals. She never did thing one.
Jesse James for all of his cool factor didn't really do anything either. He didn't bring in any money, he was really unwilling to be a project manager, and he really didn't do much that stood out.
Rightfully it should have been Clint Black in the finals but a recording star losing to a poker player in a jingle writing competition is going to kill you every time.
The only thing thats going to save Joan is if the team that is assigned to Annie is filled with people that don't hate her and the final task isn't about fund raising.

Not surprising the final two are Annie and Joan. I wasn't too surprised Brande was fired, but I was a bit surprised that Jesse was. Yeah, he didn't raise nearly enough money for charity, but I would have been interested to have seen what he could have pulled out on the final task. I really think he could have come up big. It makes sense why Trump fired him, though.

I see Annie winning the whole thing, though.
Jesse and Brande were probably the worst people to reach the final four in a long time. Neither of them really stood out or did anything notable. As much as you hate Annie, wow, she's done an awesome job of playing the game. As much as people laugh at Joan, she didn't make any mistakes, and she pulled her teams ass out of the wringer more then once.
The problem for Annie is that if this task isn't about fundraising and she has to select a team of former contestants, she's totally boned. Joan on the other hand will have an easier task in running a team.

Would disagree, Anne seems to run the challenges every week she can deal with all types of personalities with no problem at all.
Joan on the other hand always seems to do very little, she sits in the background and makes comments... I will be interested to see if Joan can actually run a project... which I doubt, I bet Melissa comes back and runs the project for Joan.
Annie is by far the best player of the game. I just can't stand listening to her. All she talks about is me, me , me, me and I, I , I, I. And it was all my idea and I am so great look at me I beat a country music star.
I think this is the only Reality Television where they pick winners and losers outside of how they actually play the game.
I think Jessie, in the finals, would have blown everyone away. He's as compeditive as they get, and would have pulled out all the stops. I think he was the anti-Annie, and I don't mean that in a harsh way, I mean that he played the game just as good, just under the radar.
But, the week before the final show, you've better built up a great resume of tangables, otherwise you will be the hired help for the finalists. Annie could prove her worth, Jessie could not.
And how is Trump not going to have Annie vs. Joan (Who I thought was just as useless as Brande, IMO). Ratings could be the only winner here... viewers, not so much.

I guess it depends on what the final task is. If it's about fundraising, then I say Annie definately wins. If it's anything other than fundraising, then I think Joan has a better chance of winning, but I still would pick Annie. I agree, we'll see Joan bring back Melissa for the final task.
As much as I do dislike Annie, she has done a good job, and I think she does deserve to be in the final two. When it came down to Jesse, Joan, Annie, and Brande as the final four, I just knew that the final two would end up being Annie and Joan.
I have to ask, at the beginning is this who everyone thought would wind up making it to the final two?
As someone who does not follow professional poker, I'm really surprised how "big time" Annie Duke is (or seems to be).
Although her approach is suspect, being able to compete in fund-raising with professional athletes and award winning musical recording artists is impressive.
Guess she meets all these contacts at those celebrity poker events?
I'm disappointed Jesse didn't make it to the final two.
I think he wanted to win without pulling the Sandra Bullock card so he could say that some schlub welder from Cali won against all these famous people.
He was my favourite underdog.
I still want to kick Joan in the teeth. She's so nasty.
I'll put my money on Annie.

I heard lots of reference to her being the best poker player in the world last night and I call BS. I probably wouldn't even have her in a top twenty current list and she probably wouldn't show up til later in a top fifty of all time. No doubt she is a great player and the second best best female player (See Jennifer Harman for number one) but I think she's been a little overstated in this thing.

I like watching Jennifer Tilley play. She's good because she can distract the male poker players with her ( . )( . ).
They did mention last night that she was the best poker player, but in previous episodes, they also mentioned that the best was Phil Helmuth
If Joan's smart she picks Jesse with her first pick. If Annie picks Brande first it could lose her the game.
Joan basically gets a free pick with Melissa so leave her to last. Doesn't matter where she goes as it benefits Joan. Or ..... if Annie has last pick leave it so Melissa goes to Annie's team for a sabotage mission.
I had mentioned the 'best poker player in the world' reference to my wife last night. The thing with poker is that there's many different variations, and variations on those variations of the game, that a number of people can be considered the 'best poker player in the world'.
I'd rather play Duke than Helmuth heads up at Texas Hold'em, but I'd rather play Helmuth than Duke at a full table of Texas Hold'em. I wouldn't want to play Gus Hanson at either cause you never know how that guy is playing at all. And if we're talking Omaha, forget about it... I wouldn't want to play anyone.
Could also be referencing womens poker specifically... who knows. Maybe they're trying to bluff the poker uneducated.
