Exclamation Vista Fix!!!! I think I found it.

I think I have the comdlg32.ocx problem fixed for Vista users..

Download the GM editor http://cphl.calgarypuck.com/cgi-bin/...d.cgi?gmeditor

Download comdlg32.ocx
( I used http://www.afreeocx.com/ocx/info/comdlg32_ocx.html )

Move it to C:\Windows\SysWOW64 folder instead of the \Windows\system32 we have been told in the past. Apparently that is the folder that Vista uses for 32bit drivers.

Then right click on the GMEditor_v1.5beta1 file and you must select run as administrator.

I got mine working this way. Hope it helps the others that were having Vista issues.

I resolved my Vista issues by downloading the GM Editor directly from the FHL Sim website (www.fhlsim.com), didn't have to monkey around with it at all. I think Aaron posted this some time ago as well - so between you and I Drew, we might have just solved the issue! Let's move on to the strugg-a-ling economy ...

I have it downloaded and it works fine, the problem is when I save my lines, they disappear into no-man's land....it is really weird.

So yeah, if anybody finds a fix as to why the lines just disappear, that would be really helpful. It would save me from having to go to work all the time to send in my lines! And I know Dave (FLA GM) is having the same issues.

I don't know where yours go - I'm by far not a Vista expert, but when I save mine they just end up in the same folder as my GM Editor. What happens when you put in the name of your file in a search window when you're in the folder view? I know I'm not explaining it right ...

So do mine, then when I go to upload them, they aren't in the folder....it's the strangest thing to explain and I'm pretty good with computers so I know this sounds completely stupid. The line file just disappears.

The vanishing line file for Vista is not unusual - posters on the FHL site complain about it - the only solution they suggest is doing everything under the "administrator" account.

I don't really understand what that means since I don't use Vista.

Might be the security setting on a trial version of the anti-virus software your computer has. That was trying to block my new lap top from letting me run GMEditor when I downloaded it off the FHL site.

I have vista, and I can't even log in or really do anything. Nothing shows up.
