No. They were trying to copycat the C of Red, and realized that it was kinda dumb to try.

I think it came about in 1999 and 2000 when the two teams played each other in the playoffs. It died for a while, then just came back about four years ago. I always love early season games when someone like Swift Current comes to town, and all 16 year olds on their team gives a "WTF" look when we're chanting about how a team that isn't even playing sucks.

A couple years ago, in Kootenay, they played the jingle that leads to the chant, only to have the Junior Hockey Junkies blare out "KOOTENAY SUCKS". The Ice never played that again.

Back during the '05-'06 and '06-'07 seasons I had season tickets, and I couldn't figure out why the fans would chant "KOOTENAY SUCKS", even when we weren't playing Kootenay. 'Cause Kootenay can hear us when they're playing in Brandon, lol.

No goal. It hit the cross bar and bounced back out towards to the top of the crease. The Hitmen have finally started to skate in this game too bad there is only 5 minutes left. 5 minutes to tie the game and go for the record of 13 straight playoff wins. Either way, this is going to be a good series.

Game over. The Rockets score into the empty net. The Hitmen are going to have be much better tomorrow.

Rockets steel home-ice 3-1, EN with seconds left

quite the accomplishment to defeat the playoff-undefeated Hitmen

Hitmen failing to capitalise on a PP to end the game.

Looks as if this could a long and close series.

Sure didn't hurt that they couldn't pass worth crap for most of the game. All of these long layoffs finally caught up to them tonight, I think. Kelowna was much more into this game from the start, and it paid off in the end. Rather frustrated that the hooking call on the GWG was crap, especially in light of the fact that a Hitmen player got decked away from the puck to create the rush, but the simple fact is our special teams were garbage tonight, and that decided the outcome. Both the PP and PK simply have to be better, or this will not be a long series.

Three posts too.

As it is, we did not have a great game, and it was still a see-saw battle. I expect a much more precise Hitmen team tomorrow.
