Bring it on. The Mayan doomsday pretty much happened 700 years ago anyway. There's not much more this stupid doomsday can bring.

It's like the mildly ######ed doomsday cousin that's arriving late to the end of the world party of a civilization that went extinct centuries again.

Le sigh.

I can hardly wait another year when we see 2 of these threads a month...

This was literally up here a few months ago and I wrote a huge long piece debunking it from three different angles, and now I can't find the thread.

I think the thread was called Planet X but when I search that now I can't find anything.

I'll keep looking.

EDIT: Found it. March 21st. A little over a month ago... :/

My post is on page 4, better than typing it out again. But just to sum up, most of the 'information' presented by theorists really actually has nothing to do with the Mayans or their calendar. And it's actually a complete fallacy that their calendar ends on that day. It just begins another cycle. And they have much bigger cycles than the one that ends on that day. When our calendar gets to Dec. 31st does our world end? No. We just start a new cycle.

Ok, I was in the Mayan Riviera in early February and I went to Chitzinitza. And I got a guide and I specifically asked him about this calendar issue.

This is what it is all about. The Mayans projected a calendar up to the time frame everyone is interested about. That does not mean that time will end then, it just meant that the Mayans just projected and wrote calendars up to that time frame.

If their civilization would have continued, their professors or scientists would have continued projecting further into time.

So it is similar to you have a day planner that is good for 5 years. After 5 years, the world is not ending, you just have to go out and buy a new day planner.
