Our admins are running around rubbing their hands in sanitizer and saying "everything he's touched has to be wiped down with clorox or lysol wipes now, he went home for the day."

I think swine flu has hit my building.

I'm ready to battle it head on.

That's my understanding anyways. That it's not a big deal for now, but it could become a big deal if it mutated and there's no vaccine.

But really, when the only precautions are "wash your hands more" and "stay home from work when sick", it's hard to get any more worked up about this then about the regular flu. The media sure is trying though!!
It was also transferred very quickly between soldiers in the war living in decrepit situations.

We will all be fine. Stop panicking..

Fireworks?

I say we push this panick into overdrive. I need a day off to go golfing. Anyone in Bankers Hall want to make a trip out to the Mckenzie town area and cough in my office?

An email exchange a lady in my wife's office forwarded to her:

Did you just come back from Mexico?

Yes. Why?

Just wondering how your feeling? Yes I am being totally inappropriate by asking you that but this whole swine flu is scary and with me being pregnant and having a toddler I'm extra concerned. Sorry to be nosy.
Jeez...

^^^^^^

Tell her to cough uncontrollably, and start blowing her nose. Then run into the bathroom screaming. At the very least she gets a day off.

I was thinking of buying some movie blood. Sit in my office coughing and then at the right time make some blood tears from my eyes, vomit up some fake blood, fall to the floor with a seizure.

What do you think. Hilarity, firings, good for a couple of days off?

I'm tempted to take a week off, fly to mexico, and then "get stuck there" due to the flu crisis. Would I lose holidays due to that?

I'm wondering.
Wouldn't getting Swine Flu now be a good thing (provided you don't die) as when it mutates and kills the rest of us the people having been infected pre-mutation will have a better immune response to it.

Or
Is this just a plot by evil corporations to not lay off people? They're actually wiping us out with Swine Flu when they've all been vaccinated.

Finally if 1/3rd of Calgary dies due to swine flu what will that do to the Value of the home I purchased that is already worth less than I paid?

Well, if it attacks the immune system like the spanish flu (young, fit individuals) it may just weed out the strong alpha males in our society. Meaning if some of us play our cards right, we may just step up a notch or two in the evolutionary ladder.

I should be leading the charge here, seeing as my immune system is a train wreck of drugs and booze, so as long as I keep up with that It'll be leftover city when this thing wraps up.

That's why I'm thinking I should go hang out in Bankers Hall. I want the less deadly version before the "super version" comes out in the fall. I don't want my leftovers going to the weak!

There has already been talk of a new version being released in fall? Geesh, it is just like technology, I can't keep up with this.
