The early moments of late, late winter . . . . . . I shot this picture a few minutes ago on my way home, southwest of the city. Snowing like crazy now.

And three hours later . . . .

Yeah, I just looked outside here in south Calgary and it's coming down fairly hard. Looks wet and mushy though, so maybe it's not so bad ...

Man, I work a block from Eau Claire and I can't see the river right now it's snowing so hard. I know that this was inevitable but it still sucks.

And crap, I forgot my toque - this is gonna be one crappy walk home today.

The roads and sidewalks are wet but it's starting to accumulate on the ground here. I just hope it's a fast moving system.

Calgary weather is brutal, living here for the last 10 years and I hate it more than ever. Usually no point in complaining, cause it wont change. But its still frustrating having to live in a city where the weather is for the most part not desirable for me at any season.

Snowing pretty hard in the south here.

I am in the west and the snow is starting to accumulate heavily in the grass and parts of the sidewalk that were 'colder'

This is a sign from the Hockey Gods.

It's 16 and sunny in Chicago right now. Which one do you think looks like a "hockey town"?

Today's my first day back at work after our Hawaii vacation . Should have bottled up some of that weather to bring back here. Didn't even think about wearing long sleeves, a jacket, long pants, socks or shoes the whole week there.

Live in the NW, on the southern slope of Nose Hill and there's already a 3cm thick blanket of snow covering my lawn.

Looking at the radar: http://www.weatheroffice.gc.ca/radar.../xsm_towns.gif

It looks like it's mostly coming down just south of the Rockies, west of High River.

I may have to make the trip down to Castle mountain this weekend.

LOL...ya Hawaii is much better. Next time bring it back.

Yes you dont need to wear the long sleeves, jacket and long pants there. Although here, you sometimes have to wear that in summer....

I must be the only one who LOVES this kind of weather for watching hockey!

I'd go out on the balcony and cheer and holler, but I don't want them to find out I've escaped from the straightjacket and am running free.

It's good for my lawn. You know what is also good for my lawn. Me sitting on it drinking beer like I was this time yesterday.
