Default Best Place to get a cheap washer in town?

So the washing machine at my rental place went down - Need a replacement. Found some cheap one for $330, but hoping there are better deals available in town with scratch and dents and the like.

Anyone got some leads?

I did that once, then a couple months later i spent a weekend drying out the basement. Sometimes you do get what you pay for.

If you can wait until the beginning of June, I have a washer and dryer that you can have for free. They are about 10 years old, but still in good working order. We would have kept them, but we got a new front load washer and dryer with our new house. PM me if you are interested.

Bring a ball peen hammer to an appliance store and create your own deal on a floor model... You know, like Russell Peters. "How much now, it's ripped?"

yahoo has some free recycling program in most major cities and centers. Everything is free and I think the only obligation on your part is to offer one thing free for recycling for every 3 things you get free through the program.

My niece got most of her baby stuff that way and it was almost brand new.

You could see if a washer is available there.

Cash corner? $5 they'll wash whatever you want and love you long time.

You just cant pass up deals like that considering considering the current economical situation.

I talked with my niece about yahoo's ecycle and she provided me with this info to pass along.

The site is at http://www.freecycle.org/group/CA/Alberta/Calgary

There is a link at the bottom of this page to "sign up". You need a Yahoo email address so if you don't have one, you will need to set that up first.

You will get updated messages as articles in your category get posted. But you can turn the messages on or off as you like. So if you are not looking for something, turn them off. When you are looking for something or trying to unload something, turn the message filter back on. Pictures quite often accompany the articles as well.

There is a place on Bowness Road with used washers. Near Salt & Pepper IIRC.

You can also drop off old washers there for recycling.

I've got one I'll sell you. Its only about 4 years old and its a toploader Maytag. It works fine except its really loud on the spin cycle (something part obviously needs to replaced). It works fine... but as I said, its loud on the spin cycle.

Anyways, I'll sell it to you for $125.

I'm not using it anymore because I got a great deal on a Whirlpool front load pair, last year (needed a new dryer and it happens that somebody I work with has a son who used to work for Whirlpool and I got the pair at the employee discount price)

There is a place called Major Appliances. Not sure how good they are I just remember them from an ad on the bus.

Also I got my new front load washer from Liquidation World about 6 months ago, brand new just has a large dent in the side. Works amazing though.
