Gotta finish Brandon off then get through the West before we can consider that.

And I really can't believe Vancouver is up in this series. That is a ton of heart being showed by the Giants.

I was looking through Central Scouting's final rankings for this year's draft and saw that Foucault's ranked 96th for North American skaters now after not being ranked at all at mid-season.. what a season he's had since being traded to the Hitmen, been really impressed with him!

Swift Current had a 12-0 record to win the WHL championship in 88-89. But I don't think anyone has been perfect since they went to three rounds to get to the League final. If the Hitmen can pull that off it's pretty impressive.

Worth noting that the Hitmen won their 70th game last night.

Is this the greatest major junior team ever to play?

I know it is way early to say that but wow. With few big name players and even less media attn nationwide this team is pretty deadly.

No kidding the WHL seems to be heavily favoring the Western Conference final. I think it's too early to brand them the greatest major junior team though...

Hitmen score again 14 seconds later. Goal by Postma.

This is more the start they were looking for!

First period notes:
- Calgary defence provided all of the scoring in this period
- Not many giveaways for the Hitmen and some very nice takeaways
- They are really dominating the play, playing a very tight game
- Not a tonne of overly physical play
- Shots are 14-4/5 for the Hitmen and it is indicative of the play thus far
- Calgary 1/1 on the PP, Brandon 0/1 on the PP

3-0 Hitmen. Plante continues on the defence-only scorefest.

Golicic with another goal to put the Hitmen up 4-0.

Wheat Kings pull Hayes.

Wow. Have the Wheaties just given up?

They don't want to make the bus trip across Saskatchewan tomorrow?
