Anyone ever dealt with these guys before? They seem to own/manage half of Kensington.
Is it weird that they want the deposit in the form of a money order?
Let me know anything helps.

Well, that's because M.O.'s don't bounce....

Thanks guys I just really am a newb at all this. I just wasn't sure if it was common practice to use a money order as a deposit.
The place was awesome but the lady seemed to hurry me a little which made me hesitant.

Can't comment on Emerald as a landlord, since I haven't rented in many years, but I have come across that name many times, so it's not like it's some fly-by-night outfit, for what it's worth.

Sorry, just to clarify.
I own a condo within a building that uses Emerald as the management company so I dont know if money orders are common place. The last time I rented the company required a cashiers cheque as a deposit.

Where abouts does one go to obtain a money order? Can I just get it from my bank?

Get a bank draft - about a $7.00 service charge.

I have rented from them in the past. They are very prompt in fixing things like appliances or plumbing problems. I had no issues with them during my rental experiences with them.

I had a friend who had a big problem with Emerald a few years ago. But could have been a isolated incident. This was also quite some time ago.

ABE is pretty much a hermit, the only problem he'll have is dying and no one noticing.

Depends on what type of account you have with your bank. I get a certain amount free per year.

Wait, are you still talking about the money order, or Captain Crunch's suggestion?
