I show up at Anderson about 6:30 am. If it fills that fast there is a serious problem .

You don't have to pay on evenings and weekends. Apparently cars at these times do not need extra security and are not contributing to the needed up-keep of said parking lots.

I have an idea, let's start selling asphalt at $3 a square foot to fill in potholes and we can pay our transit parking fees per pothole!

Has anyone seen any of the fabled new security measures these fees were supposed to be used to fund?

I saw a few more ticket checkers this morning out to collect more money.

Yup, I've seen security crusing around Dalhousie quite frequently. And the windows have still been intact and my wheels still on whenever I've come back to my car!

Canyon Meadows station has upped the peace officer presence. I haven't been checked for fair so often in the 5 years I've been taking the train. And this started before that kid got assaulted. But they need a heavier peace officer presence during the night not during rush hour if they want to increase safety.

Maybe they just are not patrolling durring those times. Parker beware?

Lets face it, its not about security, its about recouping costs lost due to people who dont pay in rush hour. Much easier to hand out a parking ticket than to find people who dont pay to use the CTrain.

It clearly states (at least at Whitehorn it does) that you do not have to pay after 6pm and before 2am

Calgary Transit Peace Officers will be conducting an
increased number of fare compliance checks for the weeks of
April 19 through May 02, 2008. While Calgary Transit Peace
Officers regularly check passengers for proof of payment,
particular emphasis will be targeted on fare compliance
during this time period.

The fine for fare evasion is $150.00 and is issued under the
Transit Bylaw. Last year Calgary Transit Peace Officers
issued 6,217 summonses for fare evasion offences.
