Wow.

Can't even imagine what could be going through your head to be able to do that... let alone what was going through his head on the way down.

I think the only crappier way to die would be drowning.

It wouldn't be that bad of a way to die, really. Painless.

Slowly burning alive would be far, far worse.

Well you'd have a pretty decent amount of time to consider what was about to happen, which would be fairly mentally painful I imagine.

Actually, would you stay conscious very long at that altitude?

You'd probably die of a heart attack from the sheer fear of impending death.

You'd have thought there'd be a pilot controlled lock for the doors on the plane.

Apparently he was in Yellowknife and was partying with friends. Someone put something in his drink. He freaked out and didn't know what was going on so he went to the hospital. Hospital checked him out and released him but he still felt strange.

The put him on the medivac plane back to Cambridge where he obviously was still hallucinating and he opened up the emergency door and jumped.

This is what we are hearing from relatives of his but know one knows for sure yet exactly what went down.

That is really messed up.

I'd say a crappier way to die would be if you were a passenger on that plane and the pilot wasn't able to land it with the freaking door open!

I'm guessing it might have been a little chilly outside the aircraft... anyone know how long hypothermia can take to set in?

You know that would seem like a good idea til there was some sort of accident and the door locks malfunctioned or something forgot to unlock them in the heat of the moment.

The first thing this made me think of was the opening scene for the first Charlie's Angels movie.

I heard he got the beats the night before. But either way, I have a real beef with people that involve other people in their suicide. The plane could've gone down. That's worse than jumping in front of a train.

Also would have been quite chilly for the people still inside the plane once the door was opened. I would have been angry.

People who commit suicide are selfish people IMO.

The government should attempt to recoup costs of finding his body from his estate. Why should tax dollars be spent on this.
