In nature animals like that die, she's lucky we don't kill stupid people. For all we know she's get mental problems, either way Disney is not to blame, she is or her mental state.

Bears were looking for food.

Woman was looking for attention.

I'd say they were all winners.

Looked to me like the bear was just saving her from drowning, unfortunately for her she doesn't have thick skin like a bear cub would. If that bear wanted to kill and eat her he wouldn't have bit her in the ass.

I see what you did there.... but really, that's not so crazy a thought. (no pun intended... ) People who are having manic episodes often either believe themselves to be invincible, or have very powerful psychoses that compel them to do insane, often dangerous or even fatal things.

In fact, not knowing anything about the situation, that seems more likely to me than "she's an idiot." I've met a ton of idiots in my life. None of them are THAT stupid. Mental illness is a much better explanation.

That's actually an interesting thought. Wild animals have done amazing things before to save humans, maybe that's what he was trying to do.

A polar bears outer fur is hollow and transparent. Due to the diffraction of the light a bear can appear white to quite a yellowish hue. (it likely also influenced strongly by the colours of the enclosure).

This woman is an idiot and nearly got what she deserved. In nature, animals that decide to do stupid crap like this usually end up dead - ideally before they can pass on their stupid genes.

It's a testament to the human race just how much stupid civilization has allowed to prosper.

I wish people on the internet weren't so insensitive, and I wish they'd wait for an explanation before jumping to conclusions. Someone I knew was recently killed in a head on collision with another vehicle, and on a news site there were people leaving comments where they called her a "typical girl", saying she was "probably texting", "on the phone", or "doing her makeup in the mirror". Know what actually happened? The other driver was absolutely hammered and swerved into her lane...

Maybe the woman who jumped into the Polar Bear exhibit was an idiot...but I think it's more likely that she's got a mental problem of some sort. It's a bit disturbing to me the way some people are piling on her, and suggesting that people like her should die.

But I guess this happened in Germany? Probably don't have to worry about her family and friends reading this...

/\/\/\ I will stick with the idiot version until proven wrong.

She swam right up to the thing thinking it would give her a big hug and then spent the next moments of her life scrambling the hell out of the enclosure.

We can definitely say one thing, she had a learning moment.

I've known lots of idiots. None of them are that dumb. In fact, I'd say nobody is that dumb. Something is wrong with that woman.

There was a male college student in China who climbed into a panda enclosure for a hug a few months ago. His quote too. He wanted to hug it.

Maybe she was just trying to top him?

And wasn't there a kid who got into a tiger enclosure last year?

Man people are dumb. I can't buy the Disney thing (I think the first poster was being sarcastic more than anything) because that's no excuse. As someone said, how sad are we getting as a society if someone does something REMARKABLY stupid and the first thing some people think about is where they may have gotten this idea and whose fault it could be?

If you can't tell the difference between reality and cartoons (or reality and anything on the screen) that's your problem. Possibly your parents if anyone else.

And as far as the mental illness thing. Well, she's obviously touched in some manner, but I don't buy that either. If that were true, we'd probably have a whole class of people with the same disorder doing things just like this. Although we've seen a few more cases lately, one would think that if that was true, you'd hear about this a lot more often.

I'm going with the stupid label. ULTRA STUPID. And yeah, probably got the ideas from movies. But that's not the movies fault. They shouldn't have to come with a disclaimer that says 'real bears are dangerous'. Our society is silly enough nowadays when it comes to safety. To the point where it's making wusses out of people, and I'm sure making them dumber because they have to be warned against everything.

Perhaps people who do that should just have a disclaimer written on THEIR foreheads...

'WARNING: This person is remarkably stupid'

That would save society so much time and money.

Seriously, it's like losing your 'human license.'

'Hey Bob we're going to Six Flags. Wanna come?'

'Sorry man, I'm not allowed to go to amusement parks anymore. I climbed into a lion den at the zoo last week and had my human license revoked. I've been bumped down to primate. But they'll let me take the test again after 6 months. Maybe next year.'

Well that would be the first time in history a polar bear tried to save a beluga whale from drowning.

It's fun watching fat people struggle.........
Anyways, I would hardly call that an "attack". The bears seemed excited and curious to have a new play toy in the enclosure, thats all.

Given her looks, the bear probably thought it was feeding time when the huge pig jumped in.
