Default Need some linux help, looking for a file sync utility like rsync via FTP or SSH

I have a directory on a linux box that I want to sync with another server via FTP.

Basically a process would monitor the directory and whenever a new file showed up it would upload that new file to an FTP site.

Time is pretty important, so it'd have to happen pretty quickly (within a few seconds ideally).

Anything like that? Or will I likely have to write something myself?

That link looks like he's attempting to do the same thing as you mentioned. The solution sounds like running a cron job that executes rsync periodically. I would personally consider using some sort of source control like SVN or something though.

Are both servers on the same LAN, or is this across the internet? Do you have admin rights on both boxes?

Across the Internet. On the destination box no access at all other than FTP access to the folder I want to copy to. It only has to go in the one direction.

Actually it looks like SSH might be an option as well!
