AC/DC in Edm - Aug 26th
As seen on a nhl.com banner.
No info on their official site or on pollstar.com. I hope they add a date at McMahon, if not guess I'll have to drive up to the dump.

Yeah, so far they just said Toronto (I think), Regina, Edmonton and Vancouver. For those of you interested tickets will be going on sale Saturday after next. So the 18th. Prices are apparently starting at $59 and go up to $99 I think. I heard it on the radio so my prices might be a little off.

I'm going to try and go. I've never been a huge AC/DC fan, but there are just some groups you have to go and see.

Meh, I won't be driving up to Edmonton to see AC/DC. Even though I really want to see them, I don't think there's one single concert that I'd drive up to Edmonton for.

fans?? or groups?
they really do put on an awesome show. i've seen ozzy twice, and although i enjoyed the concert, compared to ac/dc ozzy basically stumbled across the stage all old and decrepid.
ac/dc actually does a show. its pretty awesome.
highly recommend it. and its reasonably priced. cant complain about that.

I saw Ozzy live in 95, he still had it back then, I've heard his live shows have really gone down since then.
I saw AC/DC in 96, pretty good then.
But I just can't get excited for all these old timers anymore. And I didn't even get to see them in their heydays. THAT would have been something.

yes. totally agree. sort of like KISS. still want to see that, but, clearly it wouldn't be nearly as awesome if i were to see them in their heydays.
and ya its been at least 10 yrs since i saw ac/dc. i can't remember what year it was they were here last...96 when you saw them? but thats when i saw them.
hopefully they haven't turned all decrepid like ozzy did.

Yeah nothing against any of those bands, love em all, and glad I got to see them when I did. But I even saw Metallica in 04 (in the middle of our huge run, on the floor with some Flames in fact) it was just not the same as when I saw them in 96. Heh, I guess this was after they sobered up, maybe that's why... Looking back, I would have loved to seem them during their heydays too. Late eighties, early ninties. Just born at the wrong time I guess.
But theres bands nowadays that I can say I saw in their heydays, or even on their rise up, playing small clubs. And that's pretty neat.

My brother invited me to go to Magnetic Hill to see AC/DC but sometime in the last 10 years I got old and decrepit and no longer enjoying being mashed up in a mass of humanity and having to jump up and down to see the band.
Maybe I'll got to Montreal to see them at Olympic Stadium. I did enjoy seeing them at the then Corel Centre (now Scotiabank place). I really liked that they did a LOT of Bon Scott songs.....
Our bus driver from grade 7 to 12 played NOTHING but AC/DC every single day. He was soooo much like Otto from the Simpsons except instead of headphones he hooked up one awesome stereo system up throughout his bus. The preppies that wanted some Huey Lewis, Madonna or Hall and Oates weren't too happy with his musical choice, but most of us didn't mind the AC/DC.....

ya i hear ya. i've seen metallica a few times and the last time i saw them wasnt' nearly as good as when i saw them in 96 as well. i think i'm done seeing them in concert now.
and totally know what you mean about being born at the wrong time. i should've been born in the 60's instead of the 70's.
but....then i'd be extra cougarish...

If you guys were writing Metallica off and missed their last show because of that, then you missed a good one. I don't care what anyone says, they can play live just as good now as they could in the past. Not that I have a lot to compare to, since the first time I saw them was in 04, but I saw them twice last year and loved every minute of it.

Haha, sounds like we've been to some of the same concerts, maybe we've run into each other?
EDIT: When I saw Metallica the first time I got to high five the band as they came out, though I only got James. I've also picked up guitar picks from them both times. The second time I went I was all ready by the entrance/pathway to do it again, but there was this 12 year old kid or so who came up behind me a little later and I gave him my spot. Even held his legs so he could hang over the barrier for a better reach, lol! But the band wasn't being as friendly this time. Who knows, maybe they had problems in the past.

I first saw AC/DC in '86 and I haven't missed a tour since. They are amazing in concert, looking forward to an outdoor show, that'll be interesting. Gotta decide if I'm going to Edmonton or Vancouver.
