Sample00 heads to Calgary...
I'll be in Calgary this coming weekend and looking to catch the game (saturday) with some fellow CP'ers, for those not actually going to the game.
Is there a good place to watch the game?

If you haven't experienced Flames Central it'll be a good game to be there for. Bring your wallet though.

Flames Central is cool just once. So much potential but alas it gets old.

Agreed - maybe if it wasn't 90% hoyty-toyty pretty boys in suits it would be better.

You'd think they would have gone for the sports bar feel, not ultra lounge but o well. It is worth checking out though.

I am from the Lethbridge area. If I want to drive up and go to Flames Central, how early should I be there? Is it always packed in there?

I'd get there a few hours early on a game night. Place gets busy and it's hard to find a seat/booth. As stated above it is pricey and even more so when you have to go early for a table.

yup, i'd say either flames central or somewhere on good ol red mile (17th ave sw). anywhere you're going make sure you're early. probably plan to eat dinner there otherwise you'll have issues getting seats.

I visited last year, the Flames played 4 games while I was there, I went to one of them and watched the other three at Flames Central. I loved it there. Great atmospshere, food was sub par though. I won a GC for intermission trivis so I had a free dinner and drinks, so it worked out okay.

Yeah a few hours for sure, but the good news is that most of the snobby suits won't be downtown tomorrow and at FC 4 hours early.

It also appears you can reserve seats in the Virtual Arena online.

Yeah, you're looking at around that for a beer. That's just for domestic beer like Canadian. Imports are more expensive. They don't have cover charges.
