Neil Young - Tonight's the Night: makes you look like you know your Neil Young which means you know your rock'n'roll which means you know your contemporary music which means you're cool.

Neil Young - Harvest: makes you look like a radio crap rock (CJ92) listening fool and desperately uncool.

I am either too young or too old but who the H E double hockey sticks are they.

As for Floyd good music but slows down a good party!

When I have indulged myself too much so good old 80's metal and a taste of the Irish Rovers drinking songs can be fun.

Did some one say Kenny G? That better of been a joke!

I would suggest that none of you folks ever come to my place.

The one that would truly scare me off is Marilyn Manson. If I was in someone's place and saw that, I'd do whatever I had to, in the fastest possible fashion to get out of there. Jump off the balcony, climb out the window, scale the walls, whatever.
What's wrong with Marilyn Manson?

I have a number of his albums and I'm a good, upstanding citizen.

I should qualify that a bit more. If Harvest is the only Neil Young you have then that's pretty damn uncool. If Tonight's the Night is the only Neil Young you have then that's f'ing cool.

Now, what if "There's a hippo in my tub" is the only Ann Murray album you own?

I would look for combinations of CD's. A single very cool CD doesn't necessarily make the person cool IMO. If someone has, say, Led Zeppelin II AND Dwight Yoakam in their collection, I'd be impressed.

Another good combo.....

Queensryche Operation: Mindcrime (the greatest 'hair' metal album ever!) and Willie Nelson's Red Headed Stranger, they're IN.

I like people who have cds that I don't. I have a lot of cds, so finding something new is always a thrill. I like Rotten Sound and the Crackpipes for punk/metal, Flashlight Brown for "skater-ish" punk, Furnaceface for pop, Emm Gryner's "Girl Versions" or Charles Mingus' "The Black Saint & The Sinner lady" for mellow, interspective days, old Hank Snow and Hank Williams Sr. when I'm homesick.
My favorite song is "Road Ladies" by Frank Zappa off "Chunga's Revenge."

My cd collection is quite large, and always growing. Darek (my husband), will buy just about anything if it appeals to us at the time. I have Raffi, New Kids and Pope John Paul II side by side with Rammstein, Quincy Jones and Easy E. It depends on my mood really. A really cool website for free music is:

http://music.download.com

Check it out and tell me what you like, please. (I like a band there called "Avathar" who does a song called "Unlight".)
