Actually this is a Fox film. It doesn't have the rights to all Marvel characters, sadly that's why Captain America didn't appear in this movie and likewise Wolverine wont appear in the Captain America movie. It would of been nice for Captain America and Nick Fury to appear in cameo appearances during the WWII parts but they couldn't.

EDIT: Also:

it would be really odd if they didnt give Deadpool the "mouth". I dont no much about Deadpool but enough has been said about him here that makes me think Ryan Reynolds is perfect casting for him. I hope this movie is sweet!

Such a waste. **** this.
So let me get this correct..

"F this movie" because... you heard it was bad from someone else who seen a unfinished copy of the movie that they ruined a support character?

I can't believe what they did to deadpool....Although, I don't think they ever call him deadpool...so perhaps fox doesnt have the rights to deadpool and are just trying to get away by calling the character wade wilson?

...I wish Fox didn't have the x-men/wolverine license

As far as I was concerned, the only reason to see this movie was for the support characters, specifically Deadpool/Weapon XI.

The unfinished CGI doesn't bug me; the terrible choice to switch the person playing Sabertooth doesn't bug me; the apparently terrible story doesn't bug me. It's 100% the ruining of Deadpool that makes me hate this film.

You have NO redeeming qualities when you give "The Merc with a Mouth" no mouth. NONE. ZERO. ZIP. ZILCH. NADA.

I have become a Deadpool fan recently, and figured that Reynolds was the PERFECT cast for him... and they completely screw it??

I convinced my g/f to come see it with me after telling her how awesome Deadpool is and how funny it will be since they got IMO the right guy to do it.

Jeez.

Think this one gets delegated to download to watch on 360.

Honestly, as someone who is a pretty big comic book fan, knowing it wasnt a full blown version I wasn't disappointed (X-Men 3.. ugh). I took it for what it is, a workprint copy that can very well change be the time the retail hits.

I would actually recommend anyone AFTER they watch the retail version to go back and watch this, it's quite comical how the process for adding effects and whatnot is. Seeing a CGI dummy get ran over over a train makes me laugh.
Okay I broke down and watched this version. The movie isn't bad and I'll still go see it in the theatres.

***** MINOR SPOILERS FOR THOSE WHO DON"T ALREADY KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT DEADPOOL

As for the Deadpool stuff, they actually get his character pretty close. The Ryan Reynolds character is pretty bang on. As for Deadpool, the thing is he never actually becomes deadpool. The pictures you see of him are in his Weapon XI phase, where I'm sure his mind is wiped.

Based on what I saw in the movie there is still room for the deadpool character. So if a Ryan Reynolds spin off is made, it would still totally work.

Deadpool ain't Deadpool without the mask and costume.

That said, the origin of wolverine toys I saw at walmart had deadpool in costume on the back of the packages. He probably never appears that way in comics though.

Too bad, this film about Wolverine and Project X is filmed in Australia instead of Alberta where it really should be.

Deadpool is severely wasted if he doesn't speak. He could be the film's comic levity.

IGN has published an article with a recap (some BIG spoilers, but nothing that gives away much story) from a screening of some clips that totaled about 20 min of the FINISHED movie. For those who dont want to read through the spoiler, from what is said about Deadpool, he's bang on from what they saw.

Alright I just got back from the movie..

****************SPOILER ALERT*******************

****************ENDING OF THE MOVIE DISCUSSED BELOW*************

They do call the character Deadpool. Striker says he is a combination of all other mutant powers, they call him the "pool", the "pool of powers" and Dead is added because he will kill all mutants. Deadpool. Lame, but that is how they describe it. The deadpool scene is super lame, very bad ending fight scene IMO, they started out very well with the character but butchered it in the end.

Cool to see how Wolverine saves Summers life though, take that you young upstart punk!

What I don't get is if Charles is there on the island while Wolverine is fing shat up, why is he not able to tell all of this to Logan in the X Men movies? I understand it is two totally different film productions with different producers and companies, but it seems to me they are trying to create links.. but left a huge one there.

I love how they set Gambit up for a future appearance though, his part was awesome. Best character of the movie though was Sabretooth, even though they never actually do call him that... he played the best role.

I am not a Marvel fan so my background on a lot of these characters is thin, but it seems to me they butchered a lot of them.. but overall I liked the movie.

I saw the movie today. I am a fan of Marvel and I enjoyed this movie regardless of the problems pointed out about deadpool and such. wolverine was cool, the girl was hot, sabretooth was bad ass. It was entertaining overall

****************ANOTHER SPOILER******************

Ok lets just change this into the official spoiler thread? Thanks

Don't read this unless you watch the movie b/c it is an awesome part I don't want to ruin.

Striker comes to find Wolverine, tells him he has a duty to his country. He is waiting for a reply and Logan just looks straight forward and says "I'm Canadian." and drives away. Haha, I guess that puts to rest all of the debate of where he is from.. oh and at the start when it shows him as a kid in the NWT.

FOX did all three X-Men movies and this Wolverine one.

The biggest problem here is that this film was written well, well after any of the X-Men films.

MOST IMPORTANT SPOILERS THAT RESTORE MY FAITH IN HUMANITY!

Highlight here >>>>> In some theatres' Easter egg endings, Wade Wilson's hand is seen reaching for his severed head, and he opens his eyes and breaks the fourth wall as he whispers, "Shhh..."

Wow, turns out it IS a good idea to see a movie before you completely slam and dismiss it!
