Definition of “child pornography”

163.1 (1) In this section, "child pornography" means


(a) a photographic, film, video or other visual representation, whether or not it was made by electronic or mechanical means,


(i) that shows a person who is or is depicted as being under the age of eighteen years and is engaged in or is depicted as engaged in explicit sexual activity, or

(ii) the dominant characteristic of which is the depiction, for a sexual purpose, of a sexual organ or the anal region of a person under the age of eighteen years;

(b) any written material, visual representation or audio recording that advocates or counsels sexual activity with a person under the age of eighteen years that would be an offence under this Act;

(c) any written material whose dominant characteristic is the description, for a sexual purpose, of sexual activity with a person under the age of eighteen years that would be an offence under this Act; or

(d) any audio recording that has as its dominant characteristic the description, presentation or representation, for a sexual purpose, of sexual activity with a person under the age of eighteen years that would be an offence under this Act.

I love CP but I really get a kick out of people who think this place is important in the big picture at all.

The chances of this thread warranting people to be cautious is the stupidest thing in the world. You really think the RCMP are hot on the trail of CP? Really? Do you have any idea how many sites are out there on the interwebs? You really think a site as innocent as CP is going to be a hotbed for Police investigation? Like all of our doors are about to be broken down and we're going to be on Cops?

Like I said I find CP to be pretty important to me, but I laugh and laugh when I read how important others seem to think it is in compared to the rest of the world.

Jiri won't be taking names to anyone I'm sure, and I doubt individual posters are likely to be investigated as a result of anything here, but an affronted individual might be tempted to report the site which could lead to consequences for the site as the host of the offending content. You might be surprised to discover the police treat allegations in any way related to child abuse fairly seriously.

On the bright side, it's not as though anyone has been affronted as a result of reading this thread and might harbour any type of grudge...

Not trying to rain on the parade, but I want to make sure nobody gets carried away and gets the site in trouble.

No you aren't. If you look at child porn then you are looking at child porn. Do you know how many sites on the web advertise as having "teen" sites or categories? All of them, because that is what people want to see. Now if you don't mind I'm going to peruse the internet for hot teen sex (in which all parties are 18+ because I only look at reputable porn sites).

1: "hot teen sex" refers to girls 18 and 19 (and often 20,21,22, etc) old, so no you are not "technically" engaging in child pornography, and the assertion is so stupid I can't believe I have to respond to it. Nevermind the fact that most sites post an 18 USC 2257 notice, which is legally required in the US and serves as confirmation that all models are 18+,
