Has anyone tried this or heard anything about it? I just popped their servers onto my Telus modem/router and it seems like the speed is slightly better.
There's some good advantages to it, reliability, speed.. I think you can do some filtering and stuff at the DNS level.
One disadvantage is they'll know your internet activity 100%, so if you don't mind them knowing what kind of porn you like...
I'm sure Telus is already fully aware of my obsessions with squirting midgets. Actually it looks like you can customize this one so they can't track your usage and log your stats.

OpenDNS is handy if you have to admin a small network of machines and need/want filtering of objectionable content. You can configure your router to use OpenDNS, and your clients to use the router, and then, unless the hooligans want to use a third party DNS server to nslookup every naughty site they want to visit, you can restrict access nicely. You can also generate some nice graphs and stats on web usage (legit or otherwise) that can be handy for planning network/ISP capacity.
