Obviously you haven't seen much of the site then, there's tons of serious threads.

I know. There are alot of great threads for discussion. Which is partly why I don't understand why they let this kind of crap happen. It is ruining a great site.

Check out the various photo-radar and driving threads - people take those topics very, very seriously.

Again i ask, if you dont like whats being joked/discussed why not move on?

Do you feel you need to impose your view over and over that you dont agree this be joked about, or do you get a thrill out of being a kill joy?

what exactly are you looking for from this thread? a hundred posts saying "oh, thats terrible". Or do you think there is serious discussion to be had on the pro vs con of child prostitution?

There's one thread about teenage Edmonton whores. It's easy to avoid if you want to. It's not like every thread is taken off topic into a discussion about teenage Edmonton whores.

Okay, I suppose you're right.
The Mods should immediatly institute a no joking policy, and declare CP a "No Fun Zone"

You can be the Comissioner of the newly formed "No Fun Zone", and deem what will and will not ruin the site.

Some things I think you should get rid of ASAP.

1) The dancing Fata
2) Hookers and blow
3) Funny pictures of the Sedin Sisters combined with any reference to them as sisters, or their ponies (Sugarhoof and Sparkles)

I feel bad for the poor girls getting exploited. Their pimp is taking 40% of their potential profits. I'll do it for 30%!

I don't think you can discuss this thread seriously. The argument in this thread would boil down to "underage prostitution: good or bad?" I can't imagine that argument taking place on this site. If the OP wasn't about a specific article, or the specific article wasn't so goofy, a serious discussion could be held on "underage prostitution: how do we solve this". Hell, it would still morph into that, but it shouldn't surprise you that that article elicited mockery.

Exactly. There are plenty of threads that ignore whores completely, instead choosing to delve into other horrifying aspects of the city.

Because it is a topic that should not be joked about. It is beyond appropriate.

A kill joy? lol So you are having that much fun making jokes about teenage girls prostituting themselves out. Oh that is rich. That is so funny isn't it.

Stop responding to me and I won't respond to you. If you don't like what I have to say then don't read it.

It is a very serious topic. The exploitation of children is a serious topic.

Obviously the exploitation of children is funn... err, serious. Nobody here is condoning it, not for a second. But when you combine the complete over the top nature of the article with the fact that I question it's accuracy, people are going to take off on it.

Or, to be more succinct: It's the freaking internet.

well....I was defending your right to have and let your opinion be known, and I believe that, but this post comes off as excessively righteous.

You had every right to not find this funny, and every right to say so, but to suggest that "this crap" is what is "ruining a great site" is a little much.

There's a serious thread, go enjoy some serious discussion about it.

I actually think threads like these are what makes CP so great. A good mix of serious conversations, along with plenty of jokes. Clearly not everyone takes life as seriously as you do...
