Anyone playing in the Spring Ball hockey league need a goalie or Dman? Preferably in the Rec or Rec plus division?

I'm wondering the same. I play on a team during most of the year, but we take a break during the summer. I'm interested in rec. Forward mostly.....

Compared to the GHL, this league is crap
The sticks you are required to use in the CSSC is lame. The GHL has the same girl limit, same highsticking rules, etc.
You're just able to use normal sticks
For those that are more competitive, I highly recommend Superleagues. Best run league in the city

So what do you use in GHL? A street hockey stick?

Yeah, the CSSC rules stipulates that you have to use those plastic sticks from grade five
GHL, you can use any stick. I use my composite sticks

What league are you interested in? I'm always looking at playing more ball hockey. I'm gonna drop the GHL because I don't like the highsticking rules and Superleagues only allows you to play on one team
Anyone still planning on volunteering to book a gym? I'd play

I definitely would like to play on a team...but I don't think that I'm ready for the superleagues. If there was a CSSC team or maybe this GHL that GQ has brought up a few times I'd be interested though.

The perfect price for a stick that easily clears the glass when you're already down a man against the top team in the league!

I know the guy that runs the GHL personally. You can sign up as a spare or even join a team. I'm quitting my co-ed Wednesday nights league. I can see if they'd take you as my replacement if you'd like

I signed up for this GHL yesterday when I found them on Facebook. I don't have a team yet. Are we suppose to pick which team we want to join, or do they do it all for us?

I'm pretty sure you'll get placed on a team. Either Glen or Anita will do it for you. I think the current season ends at the end of April so you'll probably hear something more by then. You can email them and ask or if you want, I can do it for you if you prefer

No you don't use the plastic sticks from grade 5. You are able to use fibreglass sticks made by dom, you can pick them up in a couple sports stores in town. They aren't really flexible like those plastic sticks and are longer. I'm 6'2 and have no problem using it. I think it cost me about 20 dollars. I bought a better blade for it however, not one that fits over the stick and is screwed in, the fibre glass shaft is hollow, and there is a decent blade that you can buy and melt into the shaft. There is a link to the stick type. I probably wouldn't play if we had to use those flexible plastic sticks from elementary school.
