Same goes for Locke, as he wasn't dead during the original crash, but during the re-creation, well, he was.

Pst, Locke is not on the island either, he is with the survivors, which kinds of supports my thought.....

Isn't that what he was saying? Comparing Locke's situation to Sun's and that's why they are both not on the 1977 version of the island.

Locke, Sun and Ben, along with the survivors are on Hydra island in 2008. Both islands move together...no?

Yeah that too, but it doesn't really eplain why Kate for example jumped back to 1977. She was under arrest on Oceanic flight, that wasn't re-created. Must be another reason why Jack, Hurley, Kate and Sayid jumped back and Sun and Locke did not. It's all speculation at this point.
PS Seems like a reach, but maybe Saiyd being in handcuffs somehow substituted for Kate?

Maybe Sun's not on the island because she was pregnant when she left. That's why she didn't time travel with the others when the flash went off.

Yeah but Kate was in handcuffs in the original flight, Sayid wasn't.
Hurley didn't have a guitar (was he supposed to be Charlie) and Ben arriving late supposed to be Hurley?
What I'm saying is there's more than Sun that didn't recreate their condition of the original flight.
I also don't think young Ben is dead and that Miles is Pierre Chang's kid.

Its probably not the first time that Sayid has shot young Ben.

Was reading on another board when someone made a good point.
Sawyer saw Claire give birth, which means there were two of him in that time period.
Also Locke and the Hatch light thing.
It's still possible there is a rule against people actually meeting their counterparts though.

Pretty quiet episode tonight. Next week sounds exciting though...Benjamin getting judged by the island? AWESOME
I loved Hurley and Miles talking about the whole being in the future thing....great way to clarify a little bit what's going on for the audience, and hilarious to watch.

Actually I thought last night was important, it showed the changes in some of the characters, ie: sawyer, jack. These two have almost flipped the approach. Sawyer now doing things for juilet, and Jack letting it ride. In fact when jack said "maybe the island needs to sort it's self out" (or something like that) it could have been coming from Locke....

My wife I'd describe is just your average girl regarding crying at movies. Does it a bit, not often and never hysterically.
But that Kate/Aaron goodbye scene last night had her crying uncontrollably.

It's funny that she's been consistently one of the best actors on the show.
The show last night was interesting. It definitely shows that Ben had a clear fate on the island. His fathers realization at how he treated him may have been a turning point in their relationship and prevented the Others from attacking Dharma with Ben's help. However, now that he's being treated by them he will always be one of them as Alpert said making the attack likely again.

Hmm, I just had a thought, and maybe somebody's already made this theory and it's common knowledge......but could the war that everybody (Ben, Whitmore) always says is coming perhaps be the war between the Others and Dharma?

I actually think this is the start of the "split" between the Others. If you recall that fella mentioned they should speak to Charles and Ellie (short for Eleanor, the women in the basement of the church?). Perhaps the treatment of Ben is what splits the others into two sides, Richard, Ellie and Ben v.s Charles W. et al......
Just a thought

Honestly, it wouldn't surprise me right now if one or two of our main characters is killed in the slaughter of Darma by the others. It would be somewhat neat to remember Locke's scene with Ben at the pit and realizing Sawyer was one of the skulls.

I definitely agree about Jack. While we like to get caught up in the overall plot, the character development is really what the writers are trying to convey. Yes, it's blunt, but that's really the core of the show, to see how these characters are affected by the incredible on and off island events. It's taken a while, but Jack is finally starting to change.
