When I was in Vegas this past January I got two pairs of Guess jeans for $50 total ($25 each).

I cringe everytime I see guys wear super tight jeans which makes them look like girl jeans. I don't want to see every freaking bulge and curve. Please, leave that to the ladies, I don't want to see your junk.

Trust me I dont wear tight jeans - no one wants to see that! Try a pair of jeans with a little spandex in them, you will never want to go back. I have a pair of Diesel's and two pairs of billabong jeans with spandex in them and it's a delight!

I had thus far resisted the designer maternity jeans (oh yeah, talking about maternity clothes), but this thread is weakening my resolve. A lot. $250 for 4-5 months worth of jeans... do I take the plunge and do it anyways??? I'm now leaning towards "yes" after all this talk about how great designer jeans are.
Do you guys buy your jeans online mostly? Like e-bay or discount online stores somewhere?

Saskatoon, so ya there is a significant mark up. They retail on the site for around $200 U.S. but with taxes, shipping, and exchange rate it comes to about $280 I believe, I think I figured out it was about 14 bucks cheaper.
I like to give the shop in my city, Caliber, the business though because they always treat me good.
Anyway I didn't really mention this before but if you have never tried a pair on you should. Before this I never thought I could find a more comfortable pair of jeans than my Sevens, but I was wrong. They are without a doubt the most comfortable pair I have ever worn, they are very stretchy so they give slim fit appeal with the beer drinkers comfort

I got a pair of Old Navy jeans once for cheap and they were totally cute and I wore them all the time. You just never know. I'm not denying I impulse buy, but if you're walking through Nordstroms and there is a pair of beautiful jeans that are sparkly, and they happen to be in your size, you don't leave them in the store.

I guess its just that my mom always told me...it's better to have 3 good quality pieces of clothes than 20 cheap ones..but she never believed in trends either..I guess it's hard for me to understand cuz I just don't care about jeans. Now purses, thats another story!! I luv purses, but if I bought all the ones I love I would never go on holidays! and I love to travel.

Fixed. However, there are a few exception to the rule. But rarely will you see a girl compliment a guy on his jeans unless they have some gaudy name brand splash across the back pockets.

I get compliments on my Wal-Mart jeans all the time but that's probably because I krazy glue loonies and twoonies around the crotch area.

I get all mine at Macy's down in the US. It was so nice there when the dollar was at par.
I find that the ones sold in Canada are either too baggy or too tight ass emo.

Lol @ Locke. FTR, the story there is jydk was smashed out of his tree at the slo-pitch tourney and I was wearing my old, raggy, ripped jeans and he went off on a tangent about me buying pre-ripped jeans. It was funny.
But all this jean talk has me thinking. My awesome line of work permits me to wear whatever I want, which is almost always jeans. Something in my nature keeps me from spending alot on jeans when I could spend the extra money on more important stuff like power tools, girls and beer. Now I want nicer jeans.
I usually buy Guess. They fit well, cost $70-100, and if I get them dirty or RIP them, I don't lose any sleep. One time I made the awful mistake of buying a pair of Club Monaco jeans. Total waste of money that was. They f'n ripped when I had a pack of smokes in my front pocket and I crouched down to pet my friend's dog. Yeah. The corner of a pack of smokes ripped my jeans from the inside, right down my thigh. Damn tobacco companies. All they ever talk about is YOUR health. Or the health of stupid babies. No mention of the health of Club Monaco jeans. Those damn pants were $130. If I spent $200 or $300 on jeans and they ripped like that I'd probably hook my chain up to the store that I bought them from and drag them out onto the street and around the corner.

Your mom is right. You need to spend on quality clothes, but you can supplement them with less expensive pieces. I coudn't get through a week with only 3 pairs of jeans. I like to have 8-10 pair of really good jeans for going out and 15-20 for work, hockey rinks, dog park, my sister-in-laws disgusting house, etc.
I won't wear 200.00 jeans to work. I work with a lot of people who are just barely getting by so I feel uncomfortable showing up in higher end clothes and I wear jeans almost every day. I'll stick to average brands for work and save my nice jeans for after work and weekends.
Agreed on purses, my compromise on that with my hubby is one per season. As far as the magic jeans go, there's no way hubby would ever understand spending that on jeans and I'd rather win other battles. (like purses, shoes and my Flames road trips)
I plan to stop buying jeans at Old Navy because they are mostly junk. I've enlisted the help of my friends to go with me for my annual tank top stock up and not let me be swayed by anything else in that store!

Like hang them up? How big is your closet? 90 pairs of jeans is like... 5 department store racks.
My closet is pretty much packed, with my 5 pairs of pants, 5 sweaters and some 20 t-shirts.
Or do you have 2 (3?) closets?

I kind of wonder if designer jeans have more psychological benefits than actual physical benefits.
So many people are saying things like, "Ohhh my 300 dollar jeans make my ass look SO good!" But I really think that if jeans are making your ass look good, you probably have a nice ass in the first place. They are jeans, not miracle pants. If you're fat, you're fat. If you have a wide ass, you have a wide ass. I really don't think 300 dollar jeans is going to change that fact, other than it might distract people from your wide load with a fancy lable.
I think if you have a good figure and a nice ass, you could probably wear any jeans and they would look good. Whether they were $20 or $300, someone with a good ass will be able to pull them off.
I'm not trying to be a jerk, its just that I know a lot of people who wear very expensive jeans, and I really don't think it makes them look any better. I'm sure in their mind they think they look hot, but they probably have to tell themselves that so that they can justify spending that much on a pair of jeans.

I LOVE Rock N Republic and Seven Jeans....True Religion is great too! They fit amazing...dont lose their shape/color and last long. I am not as picky with other clothes, but with my jeans, I always splurge and am picky!
