I have a great superstition. It has been revealed to me by The Great Cosmic Gumu that the Flames goal scoring is driven by my drink consumption. The base ratio is one drink per goal, but sometimes in low scoring or close games it might take a higher drink/goal ratio to achieve the required cosmic harmonic that produces a Flames goal. As an aside, I l kind of like the Flames run and gun games of late. Anyway, when the Flames don't score enough to win don't blame my sobriety, blame my wife for cutting me off from my cosmic juice, which is generally either rum and coke, or that great elixir of life, beer.

Not totally ... alas, wife intervention occurred around the 6th brewski. See, it's her fault they lost cause she cut me off, from the beer that is. I hope she can bear that cross.

My ritual with the Flames isn't as bad as the one I have when Italy plays in competitions in soccer.
Sit in the same spot on the couch.
Flag and banners the same way.
Same clothes. only if they win. And since the last world cup, lets say I haven't had too much laundry.
With the Flames, I sit in the same spot, pillows are stiuated the same, three beers in the game. One each period, doesn't matter what beer as long as it's cold and wet.
I used to wear my Flames hat, but i don't anymore.

Not sure if you were around for my drinking for "The Comeback" last year VS Minny. My beer consumption fueled the Flames to victory.

I am a PVR guy so rarely catch the game thread but I did get this, it may have been my first, and it was epic!!
I never, ever, wear any Flames gear during a game. Every time I have something on they have lost. Thankfully I never get playoff tickets. That would be quite the dilemma.
I agree that the shutout gods are real. However, they only listen to the ones that believe so it is more devastating if the word slips out. I don't think an intentional one counts as much.
Although, I was playing a couple years ago and it was about 5 mins left and one of our dmen said it, in a smug and superior way. The other team promptly scored. We all hit him and he is now a believer.

I used to have a boat load o' superstitions. Mostly on the days I played hockey, but I had a few for watching Flames games.
I still won't shave on days that I or the Flames play hockey. Thats about it. I used to drink a pint of Strawberry Kool-Aid per each period and I couldn't drink until at either the first whistle or 2 minutes had been played, and I left a certain amount to guzzle at the end of the period before I went and mixed myself another mug.
When I played I used to eat 4 scrambled eggs for breakfast, have a relatively big lunch then have a light supper (usually a Booster Juice smoothy) and then have 4 cheese slices one hour before game time. I couldn't let my sticks touch the ground from the time I picked them up to leave my house until the time I got to the dressing room. I had to pack my hockey bag in a certain way, and drive a certain route to the game, leaving at exactly 10:01 to get to the arena, parking in a certain row in the parking lot. I always had to be one of the first three to the game to so I could sit in the same spot of the dressing room, and I had certain spots in each room in case we didn't get the same room from week to week.
Now, I just have to have 7 green scottish peppermints before I play, starting the first one before I walk out the door. The sticks touching the ground thing is the same as well.
It really wasn't superstition for me as much as it was routine. I start a routine and I find it hard to break.

I'd be in the camp that I don't have any superstitions, I certainly used to, as a kid I used to burn oilers or whatever team we faced in the playoffs hockey cards. Cant imagine how many Gretzky ones I destroyed
But I'd say for traditions I usually wear my jersey but thats about it for anything close to superstitious stuff you guys might do.
