Rockets and Blazers are in OT right now as well. Backlund is playing his first game of the series for the Rockets after being out with an injury.

Rockets win in OT! I believe the goal was setup by Backlund.

You appear to be correct, the WHL has him listed as the primary assist. If you were actually following the game, was it as one sided as the shots make it seem? It seems pretty impressive that the Blazers were held to only three shots in each of the first two periods, yet able to hold the lead until almost five minutes left to go in the third. Not quite as impressive to lose the two goal lead, but it seems as if it may simply have been inevitable for Kelowna to capitalize.

The Vancouver/PG game was pretty much like game two in our series. 52 shots for the Giants, including 15 in OT. Great goaltending kept them in it. Only 2400 in Prince George though.

On the topic of great goaltending, Martin Jones was named the top goaltender in the CHL for the week ending March 22nd. With all the hype that Jung is recieving, and well deservedly, it is nice to know that Jones' efforts, though certainly not as important to the teams success, are being noticed.

Well, you can't argue with him giving up just 1 goal in 128 minutes of playoff hockey in the first two games, but outside of that 2nd period penalty parade in game 2, it isn't like the Oil Kings tested him much either.

Overall though, our series has seen some great goaltending.

At the end of the 1st period, the Oil Kings are up 1-0. Shots are 14-6 Hitmen. The period was a penalty filled period. No Brett Sonne for the Hitmen tonight, he is out with an "upper" body injury.

Hitmen practically took the first period off, and they still ended up outshooting Edmonton by a three to one margin. 1-0 Oil Kings though. Hitmen gotta get better.

Kris Foucault scores to tie the game at 1. Foucault was an absolute steal from the Ice at the trade deadline.

Sounds like the referees are working hard for Edmonton tonight too. Hitmen are coming on though. Just gotta kill this penalty off then get back to what they were doing before the zebras decided that a check from behind is no longer a penalty.

The problem with the reffing is that it always seem to be the ref who is furthest away from the play who makes the call and not the close ref. Hitmen power play.

Foucault has more than replaced Brendan Rowinski's potential when we traded him. Does he get drafted based on his excellent play as a Hitmen? He did do nothing in Kootenay.

He only played a handful of games with the Ice. I believe he was with the Canmore Eagles of the AJHL when the Hitmen acquired him.

Ah, yes. I must have been thinking of the 07-08 season, when he got 3 assists in 33 games for them.

He has very good hands when he is in tight to the net. He has scored a couple of highlight reel goals in this series. You gotta think what happened in Kootenay for Kris. I mean, with his skill, and not to be on that team.

Bortis and Kozun (?) score twice in less than a minute and the Hitmen take a 4-1 lead.

This one is over, my friends.
