Not fine with it here at all.
Again, the offense was NOT the problem.
I really thought the defense played well when Nate Webster (good riddance) was out and to a lesser extent DJ, and Woodyard was starting. Remember the Atlanta game? Woodyard and Larsen were unbelievable.

I am not sure if he was offered the job, but can't imagine why he wouldn't have been, but if McDaniels wanted so much control and guys that fit his "system" so much why not go to Detroit where he would have been able to start from scratch and get the guys that fit perfectly.
The one benefit of the Broncos job was that they were somewhat close to being competitive (especially in that division) so that if you went there you wouldn't have to change much.
Seems like a bad fit for what McDaniels wants to do.
I also want to add again please, please, please no Cutler to Detroit.

If the management/coach want a new direction, some players that were starters under Shanahan are now benchwarmers. or cut. No problem with it.
I dont know alot of the younger players althought I agree about Woodyard.

So, the offense was the problem was it?
Cutler....62.3% completions, 4,526 yards, 25 TD's, 18 INT's....piss him off and make him subject to severe trade talks (yes, Cutler does his share of whining as well).
Scheffler...40 receptions, 645 yards and 3 TD's....ya, we don't want that kind of production from a TE...let's trade him as well.
Hillis...so all of our options go down to injury, we turn to this rookie AND....343 yards, 5.0 yards/carry, 5 TD's...ya let's get rid of this rookie as well.
Like it was stated the defense is why they failed, why the complete tweaking of the offense?
Poor Denver fans will be subject to complete crap while "rebuilding:.

Nah, they had a good stretch of being a winning team. It's their turn to have a team that makes the playoffs twice in 10 years and can't win a playoff game for more than 15. I'm hoping that Bowlen morphs into a hybrid of Jerry Jones and Al Davis. Than all I need is a complete implosion of the Chargers and things should be fail safe.

All true...but I think where he has to take some of the balme is in that last 3 game stretch where any ONE win would of secured a playoff spot...he was not very good.
IIRC his rating never got past 75 any of those games. That could be an indication of a guy that can't get it done when needed.
I think the kid has oodles of talent and with the proper guiding hand will be a great success in the NFL if given the time as well. But I can see where there are question marks with him.

Oh I don't disagree, I'm not Cutler's biggest fan by any stretch. Just seems odd to tweak with all these offensive pieces when in the end it was your defense that crumbled the whole season.

Come on now Tranny, the only reason the Broncos missed the Playoffs was because Dewayne Bowe dropped an onside kick that would have iced the game and knocked the Chargers out of the playoffs. In that instance Bowe got Shanahan fired and saved Norm Turner's job. Funny how a little play can have such big implications.

NFL gets a huge contract for Sunday Ticket.

In securing an incredible rights fee from DirecTV to air games on satellite TV -- $1 billion per year from 2011 through 2014 -- the league got something far more valuable than money alone. The NFL got lockout insurance.
Even if games are not played in 2011, the NFL's deal with DirecTV calls for the league to be paid the billion-dollar rights fee, a source close to the talks told SI.com here at the league meetings.

There are pictures on the web of McDaniel's holding up the Cutler jersey with a big smile on his face. (I'm too lazy to post it). Thought it was amusing.

Very smart move by the organization to use a Cutler jersey.
I've actually never seen this uniform before. It will be interesting to look at! Personally, I was hoping for this:

McDaniels smiling proudly with a Cutler jersey!!.....
Good optics if nothing else in trying to salvage their relationship.

He had an interview on NFL network yesterday too in which he was very impressive. I'm still hoping this can get fixed. It sounds as if, and this is just based on the vibe I get from McDaniels, that they think the agent is the problem here. I know that's not an original thought, but it at least gives me hope that the relationship can be repaired.

I don't think Woody Paige likes Josh McDaniels.
For those that don't know him, Paige is a long time Denver sports writer who is firmly entrenched in the city's sports scene. Interesting stuff.

Here is a great site for viewing AFL uniforms.

I actually posted this same picture in the "NFL Who Am I?" thread. Somebody answered correctly right away.

There is a very real chance that the Chiefs will play all 16 games on the road this season. I kid you not. They have already asked and been given permission by the league for this to happen.
There are major renovations underway at Arrowhead and two large unions are in a precarious situation with contracts. The Steelworkers are likely to get a deal done, but the carpenter's union is looking at striking and sources say it is nearly certain that they will do so.
I can't link to anything on the web (I haven't looked to be honest) but heard it today on Kevin Kietzman's show today. Kietzman isn't one for drama or to over react, so this is solid info.

One would think that the union workers would be thankfull for thier jobs in the current US economy. The Chiefs are more than welcome to play their home games here in Calgary.
