I'm smarte than everyone because I use telekinesis to post on the internets.

Claiming intelligence based on browser choice is kinda lame imo. That's like saying BMW drivers are smarter.

As far as browsers needed to support as a web developer, I have to say Opera is about as important to my clients as Konqueror.
These are the March browser stats for my site and they accurately represent browser and OS marketshare. Opera is big in Europe for some reason.

I legitimately tried to use Opera for about 2 months and went happily back to Firefox/Safari. I spent more time trying to tweak all the toolbars and buttons than just surfing the web.

I can tell you I have never tested any of our sites for Opera.

1. Internet Explorer

2. Firefox

3. Safari

4. Chrome

Do you have the breakdown in IE versions?
I was reading something earlier that mentioned how IE6 was still the most used version (it was an article mentioning how IE8 had a quiet release).

Out of curiosity I took a quick look at our stats by IE version and am very happy to report that the # of IE6 users is slowly dying.

71% - IE7
27% - IE6
2% - IE 8

It's pretty much down to just the corporate users stuck with ineffective IT departments. Last global number I saw was ~20% of the total hits for IE6.

Thank god.

Those numbers are pretty consistent to what we see.

1. 7.0 4,280 77.26%
2. 6.0 1,095 19.77%
3. 8.0 164 2.96%
4. 5.5 1 0.02%

It may be a little higher in the 7.0 audience as our audience skews a little more affluent than average. (Newer computers). This is our audience profile in case anyone is interested. Quantcast is a cool site for those web devs out there.
