I'm going to defend the officials in this one - there was so much crap happening away from the ball I don't think they knew what to watch. In the case of the hit on Ranger, it was a bad miss, but I'm a big believer that you call what you see, not what you think you saw...and if they didn't see it, they didn't see it.

We did another edition of Roughnecks Radio after the game tonight and talked with Kaleb Toth, Nolan Heavenor and Steinberg from the Fan also sat in.

Well, I am not sure how three referees can miss a guy getting clubbed in the head right between all three of them, but we are talking about NLL officials here. That said, the favourtism, or apparent favourtism, if you prefer, has followed Colorado for a long time, and has been a widespread complaint against that team.

Either way, it was a good game by Calgary. Colorado never led at any point.

Disappointing loss to a below average opponent last night... though Toronto always gets up for us. Loved the comeback at least, though it would have helped if the referee had gotten that goal call right. No sense in even having video replay if they can't even make the right call after looking at the replay three times on such an obvious goal. The Roughnecks bench was livid after that, and they completely lost their composure. Toronto did what you have to do in that situation: stuff the ball right down your opponents throat.

Tracey Kelusky was off his game last night which hurt the Riggers. He said as much when he joined us on Roughnecks Radio (www.roughnecksradio.com....shamless plug!)

But offensively the team was just out of synch the entire game - except for Kaleb Toth.

Lewis Ratcliff's 4th quarter goal was all kinds of sick.

That it was, though the goal right before from Manning was incredibly disappointing. Our defenceman just gave up on that play. And you are right about Kelusky, though other than Toth, nobody was really on in the first half last night. Dobbie really led the 2nd half comeback attempt though, that was good to see.

I wonder if Toronto is going to face any repurcussions from the league for their constant cheap shots last night. Conn got a major for an attempted decapitation, and should have gotten a second major (plus a game) for going after McBride's knees. Hoar did get a major and a game at the end for a check from behind. It is very unusual for anybody to be tossed for any reason other than two majors in one game, so I would imagine the officials filed a report with the league over that play.

Riggers beat the Swarm 13-10, first team to clinch the playoff berth this year.

Good to be a Calgary sports fan.

Nice rebound win. Also nice to punk Minnesota twice at the same time.

Roughnecks came back from a 7-1 deficit tonight and defeat Rochester 12-9.

God, that was some comeback. Total domination after the 25 minute mark of the game. That 5 on 3 turned everything around.

That first half was brutal to watch...nothing going in for the 'Necks. Guys beside me were wondering if they needed more booze to get through the game, the way it was going. Getting those two PP goals turned it around. Its like they went to the locker room, said "crap, we should start scoring", and really took it to the Knighthawks. Great second half.

Riggers lose to Portland on friday but pick up the win in Edmonton to clinch the west division. At least someone didn't blow the lead.

That was a tough loss to Portland too. Especially a last minute goalie interference call when I'm pretty sure that Disher was out of his crease. But, Portland played well.

Portland was very good last night - and the Riggers seem to have problems against big teams. And that Lumberjax team is BIG. The Morgan brothers are 6'6", 6'8" and 6'10"...and Pete Morgan is HUGE but can actually play. Total freaks.

Depending on when (and if) the Flames and Hitmen play, since they have priority over the Roughnecks in Dome scheduling.

Lets try and get a good crowd out to this game. The Roughnecks have home floor for the entire playoffs including the final should they make it. Would be nice to get a huge crowd for these guys who have worked their asses off! I went to the championship final in 2004 at the dome and that was a crazy time! Hope to do it again!
