Wasn't the ecoli shake the Marshmallow flavoured one, rather than Oreo?
Anyway, I can pretty much guarantee that that was the best $30 hamburger you ever had... and possibly the worst too!

I went to a Burger King drive thru once, paid by debit.......the total was $9.85, but the chick typed in $98.50 into the machine. I didn't notice when I put in my PIN and stuff, so it was half my fault, half her fault.......Luckily, I was doing some online banking later that day and something didn't look right. And sure enough, I see a 98 dollar charge from Burger King and I'm like "damn, thats an expensive Whopper!!".......I threw out the order receipt and debit receipt, but when I went back, they realized the mistake and refunded me the money.

One of my uncle's story
He was doing a late night drive to another city (Vegas I think) when he decided he should get more gas. He drives to a rural gas station and gets the kid there to fill it up. The kid was quite young and it was pretty late to be working. Since it was the holiday season and the gas was under $40US, he pulled out a $50 bill and told the kid to keep the rest of it as a nice Christmas jesture. That kid just got estatic, and offered to do the windows, check his oil, check his tire pressure..etc.
The next night during dinner at a fancy Chinese restaurant, it was time to pay and he pulls out a $100 bill for his family's share. However, what he thought was $100 was a $50 when he pulled it out of his wallet, and it slowly dawns on him that the reason the kid was so estactic at the gas station was because my uncle gave him $100 for $40 worth of gas.

Haha yeah I look like an ass don't I...
I guess I should have qualified my statement...the only time I would ever do that is if I was at a club like Cowboys or whatever. If I'm in a pub, or anywhere else for that matter, and I get too much money back, I'd let the server or whoever know. But sorry, if I'm standing in a line for 10 minutes to pay 7 dollars a drink, if you give me the wrong change, I'm not standing in line to make sure it gets back to whoever screwed up.

When I was a kid, I went to Mac's and bought a Tootsie Roll and some pixie dust, and instead of giving me back a quarter I got a lousy nickel. I was emotionally devastated by the incident and ended up terrorizing smaller children for their lunch money and mugging old ladies, and then escalating as an adult to contract killing and eventually even voting NDP - just to try and get back that lost 20 cents.
Don't end up like I did. Count your change.

Back when I used to work as a waiter I had a similar experience. (And you will see how old this story is in a moment.) I had this one couple that were regulars; nice older couple and always friendly, but never tipped. That was just the way the husband was.
Once the wife felt bad that they were taking up a bunch of my time, and when her husband was turned to talk to the table next to them, she pulled me aside to give me a small tip. Her words were like "I'd like to give you a couple of dollars for your trouble." The thing was, she thought she was giving me two $1 bills, but it was actually two $20s. She was hard of hearing as well as her vision problems, so by the time I made sure she knew it was $40 she was trying to give instead of $2, her husband heard what was going on. He actually reached into his pocket and gave me $4 instead of the $2 I was supposed to get- the extra was because I was so honest.
The funny part of the story was the wife said "see- bing honest does pay in the long run", but then the husband said "no it doesn't- if he had kept his mouth shut he would have had $40 instead of $4."

I feel ripped off every time I go to Peter's. Those are nasty-ass burgers. It's incomprehensible that that place is so popular.
Best burger in town right now would have to be at Original Joe's, but that's only because Fuddrucker's closed shop.

Your story ends up like so many people who should have just double-checked before leaving. Thank you for sharing, you are an inspiration.

At Joey Tomatoes once with my parents, the $160 bill was entered into the debit machine as $1,600.
In the parking lot my dad double checked the debit slip and then hastily went back in to be refunded.
It took a while to get the money back since they had to scramble around to figure out the code to do a refund, but it was eventually done plus they offered to waive the meal charge as well. My dad declined the free meal however.

I don't mind the burgers myself, but I think the popularity comes from the milkshakes. It brings all the boys to yard.....

I don't mind the ones from Peter's, but I'm with you on the Fuddruckers - those were some fine burgers.

Saskatoon and Great Falls are the two closest places for a Fudd's burger now.

Just this Wednesday, I had to go to the bank to withdraw $3500 cash for the purchase of an offroad toy.
Anyway, I ask to withdraw the money from two separate accounts. $1500 from chequing, $2000 from savings. They print the slips out and I initial each.
They ask me to sit down while they get the money.
They call me up 5 minutes later. This time its a different clerk. She hands me $4000 in one hundred dollar bills. I said, sorry, that's not correct, and before I could explain what the problem was, with a somewhat confused look she counted out and gave me an additional $1500.
I said again, sorry that's not correct. She asked what was wrong. I said, you've given me way too much money. She said, no, the slips are right here.
She showed me the slips... 2 for $2000 and 1 for $1500..... but one of the $2000 slips was for an earlier customer and they forgot to put it away where it should go.
I told her only two of those slips were mine, I handed her back all the money, she got red faced and counted out $3500, and thanked me profusely (but quietly... her supervisor was nearby, and I was quiet too).
Not that getting caught makes the difference on what to do here, but I wonder if they have checks in place to determine where the money went.
For a second (maybe a little bit less), I considered that I might be getting my own corporate bailout courtesy CIBC.
I should add, one time I bought a bottle of spirits from the liquor store for $25.00, gave the teller $40, and he gave me change back as if I gave him $100. I didn't notice, and just walked to my car. He ran out as I started my car and said he gave me too much money. I checked my money clip, and sure enough. I gave him the difference. He told me, "nice try" as if I always knew. I wanted to punch him. Instead, I never bought there again.

I once went to Taste of Edmonton during Klondike Days, went to buy a bunch of tickets, and then proceeded to walk away without collecting my change. I just left it there apparently.
And then I bought a big ass rib, and promptly dropped the damn thing. It wasn't a good day.

In my second day working at Jersey City up in Sunridge. I had to ring in a vintage Leafs jersey that cost about $198.99. The women paid by debit and I enter the price into the debit machine and let her enter her pin. Finish the sale and let her go long.
When we we're closing up and creating the deposit and float, that we were OVER sales by $600 dollars. Double check the numbers and same result.
Turns out I accidentally enter $798.99 instead of $198.99.
The women came back to the store the day after and got the payment fixed up by my manager therefore she didn't overpay a jersey by 600 dollars.
Definitely one of my biggest blunders.
