Apple Event - March 17
I'm such a sucker for these things.
Speculation on what's coming down today:
- iPhone OS 3.0 (Tethering, MMS, Copy + Paste, background/push Apps?...Etc?)
- New iPhone models
- Tablet Mac
- 'Premium' App Store
FLASH! Please!

I hope that there's some news or products for those of us who have no interest in iPhones. A tablet Mac would be sweet, assuming it works like the current mods that are out there and recognizes some form of pressure/tilt sensitive pens, like Wacoms. I probably wouldn't be able to afford one for my next upgrade, but I'd certainly covet it.

I hope they release a larger format iTouch. I want a damn iTouch but not if it only holds 32 gigs.

GOAT!

All I want for Christmas is Copy/Paste, MMS and Tethering.
Edit: Oh and the Premium App Store. These fun little $2 apps are neat, but it's time to see what the big boys can do.

Tethering: Your iPhone becomes a wireless router you can hook up with a laptop and use 3G to surf the web...

MMS is great and all, but there's so much more potential. Background apps, push notifications....

Subscriptions in apps.. this is HUGE for me. I'm developing a mapping app and we wanted subscription based updates for our data..
Oh man, that's awesome.

That is sexy.
Google maps in applications also stinks of unfiltered win.

I don't think I understand this.

It's a licensing issue with Google. The Maps API is free so long as your application is free. But once you start charging people for something that uses the Google Maps API, then you have to pay Google a license fee.
I think it starts at $10,000 for 500,000 hits to the google server per year. It goes up from there.
