I think a quote from Craig MacTavish could describe that game quite well, but I think everyone knows which one.
They couldn't score to save their lives. Balls going into open play, Liverpool's players standing around when balls are going in their direction, Alonso playing good until that ball bounced off him and went in.....just hard to figure out when to begin.
Also, why didn't El Zhar get subbed the hell off the second he got a chance that anyone else on earth could have scored? Unreal.

Well that was a crappy game, not too happy with the result, Liverpool wins 2-0.. Kenwyne Jones missed a breakaway 3 minutes in for us and after that it was basically all Liverpool.. come on Manure tomorrow!!

C'moooon Magpies!!!! Both goals were really nicely setup though. Awesome header by Gerrard, and very great bicycle kick pass by Eggnog. Totally awesome!

Yeah that was a nice play by Ngog on the second goal but Fulop swatted it right to Benayoun, that's why Craig Gordon'll be playing net for us next game.

That's true, definite mistake by the keeper on that one. You could tell N'gog definitely had some confidence after putting that first one in though.

Fun to watch...

Wow....wonderful game there. You could tell a few minutes in, when Casillas had to make 2 excellent saves, that it was going to be good. Dossena even scored a goal.

Ohhhhhkay. So who here is waking up early on Saturday morning? Thanks to a decision made by Dubya to move DST a few weeks, we've changed our time before Europe.
Time difference is only 6 hours, so we've got a 6:45am kickoff on Saturday. As usual, we'll be at On the Rocks. Despite those annoying Mancs having a game in hand on us, we'll pull within 4 points if we beat them, and still cling on to a glimmer of hope, for a 19th league title (and to prevent those s from catching up to the long thought invincible record Liverpool still holds). Torres looked in full form at his last appearance in Madrid, and the whole team looked very focused. Ryan Babel played the best he's ever played after starting that I've ever seen against Madrid (as last year he was a super-sub, and would never play as well if he was there at the start).
United are....annoyingly in form. But they are not invincible. Liverpool looked it early on in the year (especially with the victory over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge) so anything can happen. Even if the league goes to Manchester, beating Man U and Chelsea twice each in a year would be a very re-assuring for next year. Hope to see a CPer or 2 at the pub (although if I don't, it's understandable....effing early start)

You know, one day I'm going to meet up with you there. I have to work at 9 and I'm going to be out late tonight, but damn, I dont want to miss this game.
I'm really tempted...

4-1 at Old Toilet. Better than your wildest dreams really.
Love how the color commentator on Setanta was practically choking on his words, such was his love for the Mancs. No credit at all from him. Makes it a little sweeter really!
Still need a lot of help to win the league but a double over that lot is beautiful anyway.

Exactly...I've got a soccer game tonight and most of my team are Mancs, so I'm going to ram it down their throat.
What pisses me off though is that Liverpool has the talent to take on the best, in less than a week we've embarrassed both Real Madrid and Man U, the 2 biggest clubs in the world, but they dont have the consistency to grind out wins to win the league.
Whats great though is that these boys should have absolutely ZERO fear about running up against anyone in the CL.

From the Telegraph :
"Liverpool may be too late to stake a serious claim to the title this season, but they have pierced United’s aura of invincibility. As a statement of intent, their rampage at Old Trafford may prove priceless."
Nice and very accurate too.

I love this picture:
YEAH I'M CRISTIANO RONALDO I'M SO AWESEOME!! Huh? Whats that? Torres ties it up mere minutes later and then Liverpool proceeds to hand us our ass? But I'm still awesome right?
LOSER.

Now that I'm home....
WOW!!!!! I missed the first few minutes, got to OTR at about 6:55. Chelsea? 0 points from Liverpool. Manchester United? 0 points from Liverpool.
Loved the commentary and their "that was a really bad penalty by Reina" junk. They didn't mention how Vidic had to suck, AND Torres had to be amazing to score that goal. Simply amazing. We had two Man U fans at the pub too. Amazing showing from everyone. Lucas starts the game, and wasn't a disaster at all. He played well. Every time Carra plays right back, it looks good, and it looked good today. I'm going to be grinning all week from this one. Hopefully, this didn't just hurt Man U's invisible self esteem...I hope it murdered it. This game was the difference between having a 10, or a 4 point differential (or staying the same).
Aston Villa next week. They've been sliding lately, so hopefully Liverpool can take advantage of O'Neill's slumping Champions League hopefulls. 10am kickoff, as the time won't be lined up yet.
