Ahhhh!

My house is gone! Can someone drop by and make sure my family is OK?

(Clearly this site is roughly 8 years or more old)

The saddledome is a lot more circular than I would have thought.

Wow, I guess it is like a Pringle. Who woulda thunk it?

My house is there alright, but like Bingo said, it's pretty old - they don't have the rollercoaster or 3 hole golf course in there. Oh well.

I went straight south of the start point and hit my house in the country dead on.

(Clearly this site is roughly 8 years or more old)

I thought I saw 1999 written somewhere. The fence I put up in 1999 is there.

So's MY fence that it put up in 1999 sometime. Not in your yard. In mine.

There was actually a company in Calgary a few years ago that paid a number of photographers to take shots of every house in every major city in Canada - head on shots. Their goal was to create a massive online directory that realtors would use to sell houses. It was creepy stuff. I searched for my house and sure enough there it was. I don't know what happened to the company but it was weird stuff. .

Crazy. I wonder if I was in my house the day that was taken. Maybe I was eating breakfast, watching TV. Sleeping. Weird to think about.

Maps like that exist for much of the US. There was a magazine last year that was doing an issue on personal security and privacy. They used a service like that and looked up addresses of every single (well, except those living in small towns) on of their subscribers, and then printed an individual cover for each subscriber showing that person's house or apartment building and the phrase 'we know where you live'. Very effective idea, and they won a lot of awards for it.
