Digital Sound out with an old computer?

Hey guys, I've got a 4 year old computer that doesn't have an optical out so right now I'm just running a mini-plug to composite cable and plugging that into my home theater system.

Do I just have to buy a newer sound card with digital out or is there some other addon card that will do it?

Basically I'm just wonder what options I have?

I guess I should have done a little more research as there's a tonne of PCI sound cards out there.

Anybody have any sound card recommendations or something to specifically avoid?

Yeah, cheapest I'm finding so far is a card on NCIX for $99... meh.

Seriously? I bought a soundcard from NCIX that had optical out for like $19 two years ago.

I guess soundcard demand is really low nowadays so there's not much choice in the market.
