Well you know, I always want to stay cool with the times, I wanna be hip, I wanna fit in with the kids, so Team Breaking the Fourth Wall picks, as their movie adaption, "The Watchmen !"

This is a movie adaption that has been in the works for atleast 20 years! Considered by many to be one of the best comic book stories ever written, and so far many of the fans of the book say that the movie is a damn near perfect adaption.

Some may think Dr Strange is lame, but team Fighty Time! Fighty Time! will take, in the Gadget/Vehicle/Weapon category, the mystical

Eye of Agamotto
In the amulet on Dr Strange's neck. Always seemed like the coolest thing to me as a kid. See through disguises, stun people, all sorts of crazy stuff. He got it by defeating Dormammu, who was always a fave of mine from the weird story with Dr Strange trying to take over the world and some giant crystal thing and a weirdo sidekick that Spider Man stopped. Ok, that was random. Anyway, from Wiki:

The Eye can radiate a powerful mystical light that allows Strange to see through all disguises and illusions, see past events , and track both ethereal and corporeal beings by their psychic or magical emissions. The light given off by the Eye also weakens a variety of evil mystical beings, such as demons, devils, undead beings, dark extradimensional entities, and even sufficiently corrupt human practitioners of the Dark Arts. Strange can use it to probe the minds of others , project a powerful mystical shield , and create portals to other dimensions . It has also been used to place beings into suspended animation .

I saw it at IMAX this afternoon. Nice pick. I was torn between The Watchmen and another Alan Moore story but I guess you've made up my mind for me.

Oh how I hate you right now... I knew I should have picked it before it came out.

			Wildcard
The Punisher is a vigilante who considers killing , kidnapping , extortion , coercion , threats of violence and torture to be acceptable crime-fighting tactics. Driven by the deaths of his family, who were killed by the mob when they witnessed a gangland execution in New York City's Central Park , the Punisher wages a one-man war on the mob and all criminals in general by using all manner of weaponry.[1] His family's killers were the first to be slain.[2] A war veteran , Castle is a master of martial arts , stealth tactics, and a wide variety of weapons.

The Punisher's brutal nature and willingness to kill made him a novel character in mainstream American comic books in 1974. By the late 1980s, he was part of a wave of psychologically troubled antiheroes and was featured in several monthly publications, including The Punisher War Journal , The Punisher War Zone , and The Punisher Armory . Several movie adaptations have been released, one in 1989 , which features Dolph Lundgren as the Punisher, another in 2004 , with the character played by Thomas Jane and a third in 2008 with Ray Stevenson as the character.

According to SuperFlyer on post 240, I think, I had missed a pick. I've been a little behind in all the drafts, so I made up my pick with Big Pun.

Well since all my original picks were taken, it took me awhile to decide to choose one of my favorite Marvel cards as a kid. In the Male Super Hero category, I choose GHOST RIDER !!!
  Powers
Ghost Rider has superhuman strength and durability, as well as the ability to project and control Hellfire, which can sear the soul as well as burn the flesh. He can shape his Hellfire into a mystical motorcycle capable of traveling over water and up vertical surfaces. He is also immune to any mystical attacks that are specific to beings with living souls. Abilities

Blaze is a world-class cyclist capable of seemingly impossible stunts. He is also an excellent shot with pistols and shotguns and has limited knowledge of the occult.
 Weapons
When Blaze becomes the Ghost Rider he has complete control over a Hellfire Enchanted Chain which is nigh-indestuctible.

Although the movie sucks, just one of the most bad ass looking Marvel characters ever!!

With their 7th round pick?, Team Savage Dragons is proud to select under the male hero category:
MARV

"Most people think Marv is crazy. He just had the rotten luck of being born in the wrong century. He'd be right at home on some ancient battlefield swinging an axe into somebody's face. Or in a Roman arena, taking his sword to other gladiators like him." --Dwight

People may argue my movie adaptation pick, but I say the movie was actually better than the graphic novel.
V for Vendetta

Great as a movie, totally disloyal to the source material, which is the problem.

I read the source material. I found it hard to follow, no real flow. But I think the story was much better in the movie than the book. They made V a better character in the movie more moving, more thought provoking. They kept the necessary elements of the novel (but it a radically different order). I agree it is an issue, Alan Moore didn't like it at all, but David Lloyd thought it was very well done and said Alan Moore would not like anything unless it a direct adaptation.
I had a lot of problems with the graphic novel and did not really enjoy it, but the movie was great. More powerful, more thought provoking. Like come on, in the book he figures out V's history by going to Larkhill and taking LSD and hallucinated his time in the prison, that's stupid.

I loved the graphic novel. The movie is one of my favourites out there, but I have to shut off my brain when I watch it. IMO they changed the entire mood and point of the book just to make what was basically an anti Bush movie. Not trying to start a debate, just getting in my two cents |
