Jags WR Matt Jones arrested for posession of a controlled substance, AGAIN!
He got off pretty lightly with the league and the justice system last time.
I doubt he'll be so lucky if this charge holds up.

Just pointing out that he was NOT arrested AGAIN for anything like the first bust.
Dude had beers while under probation...while golfing. But he is facing a bigger problem with the NFL for simply doing so.

Lol, my fault! I though I read that he had some pills or something. I'm usually better than that.
To be clear, the article has been edited/added to since I posted that.

The same Leigh Bodden that was an integral part of the Lions going 0-16 last seasom? The guy who was repeatedly beaten by receivers as the Lions put up one of the worst defensive seasons in NFL history?
I wouldn't be counting my championships quite yet if Bolden is expected to contribute to the team.
It certainly wasn't all his fault on the amount of times he got beat but he did about 0 to help the defense last season.

You cannot count a season against a guy when he plays on a 0-16 team.
Look at his stats from Cleveland. There is a reason Detroit signed him to a 4 year 27 mil contract.
He is an elite CB on a prove it contract (one year)... watch out.

You can count any season in which a guy is crap against him. Especially if he looks worse than average compared to those same guys going 0-16.
There is a reason that Detroit released him despite having no talent at all in the secondary and no cap issues to worry about at all in regards to his contract.
He is nowhere near to being an "elite" DB even looking back at his Cleveland days. You can look at stats all you want I prefer to watch the way the guy acutally plays, especially when it comes to DB's. 8, 9 even 10 INT's are great but when they are offset by 15,16,17 TDs the other way it doesn't really even out that well.

That's what I thought about Dre Bly.

They released him because he was due a huge bonus in his contract actually. It had very little to his on field performance. I will give you that he did not live up to his contract but when you get no over the top help from your safteys your playing the best WR's in the league One on One.
Guess we will see. Bookmark this thread and if im wrong you can say i told you so but i have a feeling it will be the other way around

Dude Denvers defense is straight awful they managed to make the best CB in the league look average (Bailey)
Your secondary is only as good as your pass rush.

roster bonus or not you don't release "elite" CB's due to roster bonuses. It also seems odd that Cleveland would trade an elite CB to get a guy who plays less than half the snaps and when he does play only does so half the time.
Bodden may work out okay for the Pats but he was bad last year on his wn merit not because the team was bad and is no way close to being an elite CB in the league.
He certainly is not the kind of signing that should be making the teams in the AFC concerned.

Are we having an argument about Lehigh Bodden being an elite corner?
He had one good season in CLEVLAND. And then stunk up the joint in Detroit. This is just another depth signing.
NEEEEXT!

Laughable.
Bailey has never looked average in Denver. Bly was god awful.
I think the Bly to Bodden comparison is pretty bang on. You might want to address that part of my post.

No he was bad last year i said that on a bad team its not all on the individual when its an awful team. He didnt live up to the contract so he was released. Hes now on a good team with a good supporting cast (remember they just signed Springs as well) and we will see the real player on a one year prove it contract.
Thats all im saying. We shall talk about this as one of the better signings of the offseason by any team thats my guess

Who's hating? We are all just stating that this isn't that big of an impact move.
You are well within your right to disagree. But for the time being I'll chalk this up to a "meh" signing.
To be fair, most of the Pats "meh" signings play a big part on their team. And that may be the case. But Bodden is an average corner. But he's young, so going forward he will help the Pats who have always been fairly old in the secondary.
