This is what I don't get?

What is the fear? Someone calling out fata and you look like an idiot for about 30 seconds before CP moves on to it's next victim.

People shouldn't take offence to a Fata but should just do a proper search and then post. If it is still fata, oh well, we ain't all perfect except for me of course

Even if someone calls out an unnecessary Fata everyone should ignore it instead of quoting it and talking about why it's not a fata vs actually talking about the subject.

Just my two cents.

Alright. I think I know a thing or two about the message board mentality, and something you have to understand is that there are a lot of fragile people out there who take this a little too seriously.

Trust me. The kinds of things people say to me after I make a callous comment really tend to show how seriously some people take all of this message board voodoo, so I think its safe to say that mocking people in a manner that most of them dont understand (noobs and the mysterious fata) tends to get people a little on the jumpy side.

Look at how many meltdowns we see on CP, these people are out there and they think the internets are real life.

If you think a thread should be closed because the topic already exists than simply report it and let us make that determination. This forum is hard sometimes on noobs when they post threads and a bunch of people jump down their throat.

I generally only fata if it's on the first three pages (usually the first).

For some reason I was catching a lot of them a few months ago. Probably just the time I was on.

But I too hate it when a thread is dug up from years past. I mean, then you have to read this long ass thread that is mostly irrelevant at that point just to be on top pf the conversation. I think if' it's been longer than a month, it's ok to start a new topic.

Course on the flip side, I also hate it when someone starts a thread to be clever and funny and it's doppleganger is literally two or three links below them. You don't even have to search, just read the first page! Caught one that was literally the link below it.

The only time that I get annoyed with people calling Fata is when they either don't link to the original discussion or they link to a game day thread or something.

If you can't be bothered to point someone in the right direction then you shouldn't bother posting in that thread. And I'm not going to wade through 2 or 3 pages of potatoes in a game day thread just because there might be a hint of meat in it somewhere.

If someone had posted an article/link that's buried in a thread, and someone else posts a new thread that's essentially a new topic using said article/link, it is not a Fata, and you're worse than other Fata Nazis.
