Cowboys gets the boot...Again!
Cowboys nightclub is going to have to move....again.
The city has purchased the land and building cowboy's is located in, at Olympic Way and 11th Avenue southeast.
Cowboy's lease will run out December 31st of this year.
The Calgary Municipal Land Corporation says it needs the land to build the 4th Street underpass, which is part of the re-development plans for the East Village and Stampede Park.

Which should, oddly enough, now be left vacant or capped at the parkade level. Maybe they should move the building after all the TI's they did. Just plop it right back where old cowboys was.

I still find it funny that anytime someone mentions Cowboys here, it almost always ends with everyone making fun of it, but whenever I mention wanting to head out to Calgary, it's usually the first place people tell me to go.

I don't understand this line of thinking. If you don't like it, then don't go.
The way I see it, most people don't like Cowboys because of the kind of people that go there. If that's the case, why would you want it to close? Wouldn't that then mean there is a greater risk of the people you don't like going to the places you actually go to?

This is because inexplicably Cowboys is popular. It is where all the celebrities, athletes and who's who of Calgary go when they are going to a club. No one knows why, the place is a dump, I don't know anyone who ever goes there and yet it is somehow the pinnacle of nightlife in Calgary. Just a big mystery really.
