There's still hope for mankind out there.

When I got home today my car got stuck in all the slush in front of my house. As I tried to get it out, it pretty much kept getting more and more stuck. Mysteriously, all of my neighbors were "not home"... so I wasn't getting any help. Any car that drove by ignored the fact that I was clearly trying to dig my car out.

Eventually a big UPS truck pulls up, and the driver jumps out and asks if I am stuck. Without even thinking twice he pulls some sort of grippy/traction pads out of his truck (they looked brand new, still in the package and everything) and sets them up, and starts pushing my car. Within a few minutes it was unstuck and good to go.

So anyways, I just wanted to say that there's still a few people out there who are willing to spare a few minutes to help someone out. I really appreciated the guy stopping to help me, it really made my day!

I hope you thanked him. I helped this one guy get unstuck last snow storm, didn't even say thanks. just got back in his car and drove off.

I was dumbfounded.

I know it was just a one off, because same thing happened to a neighbour while I was walking the dog. Couldn't get him out, but at least he said thanks and offered a beer.

Damn I just broke another key overtorquing it, and I wasn't trying to force it or anything. I broke a cup the other day just picking it up normally to take a drink of water. I feel like The Thing from Fantastic Four.

Don't worry, I thanked him about 10 times! I wish I'd been near a coffee shop or something so I could have at least offered to buy him a coffee.

Random acts of kindness are cool. Twice i've had the car in front of me in the drive-thru line at Tim Hortons pay for my bagel and coffee. Never get the chance to say thanks, except that they're regulars. So I make sure to tell the teller to say thanks. If I wasn't already scrounging for chump change to begin with, I'd return the favor. I will soon, however.

I once helped my moms neighbour get his car unstuck. Ten minutes later, while I was shovelling, I was suddenly in the middle of a blizzard, covered in snow. The neighbour was using his snowblower to clear his driveway. I ended up having to redo my moms driveway when he was done.

I am watching Rocky IV right now. It just doesn't get old for me. I love everything about it, even Brigitte Neilsen attempting an accent. It's just all around great.

How come the only decent songs Survivor ever did were for Rocky movies?

I think maybe they just seem better when put together with a training montage.

Nah, 'Eye of the Tiger' would still be a classic even without Rocky III.

But I just listened to 'Burning Heart' for the first time in years courtesy of YouTube. Your point might be valid on that one.

Damnedest thing happened today, I had recently ordered an emergency traction kit and it was supposed to be delivered by UPS today and when the guy finally showed up (late as usual ) the box had been opened and the kit looked like it had been used.

I was extremely pissed so I called the guy's supervisor who assured me that the driver would be fired over the ordeal.

Where do delivery truck drivers get off thinking that their delivery items are their own personal property?

I also demanded custody of his cat as he would be unable to properly care for it once he becomes an unemployed and broken husk of a man...I subsequently killed it in front of him to demonstrate my social superiority.
