Reducing traffic flow on the northern section of Deerfoot through the bottleneck by 6.5% - 8.2% sounds like support for my case. So I guess thank you for helping me draft my proposal...some very useful numbers there.

Anyone else wish we still had blue squares?

The point is, and one which you have not even attempted to counter, is that your argument that there would be no gridlock without Airdrie drivers is dead wrong.

Lets see your numbers that prove your argument. Or, are you just whining because your drive isn't as perfect as you want it to be, and you prefer to lash out randomly?
I'm looking for a low-cost way to improve traffic flow that is both fair to Calgarians and punitive to abusers of the road system that have chosen to live in a parasite community. My proposal accomplishes exactly what it set out to do. Did I say this would eliminate the gridlock? Maybe I did - if so I may have been too optimistic. Saying my proposal would improve current conditions would probably be a more accurate way of wording it. Thanks for helping me clarify that.

Except that your supposed parasites are paying just as much to maintain Deerfoot Trail as you are.

Once again, all drivers have every right to drive a provincial highway. Your proposal is selfish, self-centred and short sighted.

This may come as a shock, but it isn't all about you.

I know your just trolling, but you hit a nerve. I resent that. Anyways, here's and idea for you. Why don't you just start a petition to build a huge fracking wall about the city and not allow anyone to leave or enter. Be an island to yourselves. Then you won't have those pesky tourists driving on the Calgary roads.

Also, the north end gridlock is the result of two issues: The bottleneck at Beddington, where you have five lanes of traffic merging into three, and the complete lack of a useful alternate route into downtown from the north. Everyone has to take Deerfoot, regardless of what community they start from.

Frankly, your "lets screw over people from out of town" attitude is little more than misdirected anger. When you get down to it, Airdrie is not much farther out than Westwinds or Coventry Hills. Why don't you propose tolling people entering Deerfoot from the outskirts of the city itself as well?

I have no trouble getting from the northend to downtown taking centre street, 4th or Edmonton Trail. I actually get there faster going that route instead of Deer Foot.

Ahh yes, if you have a divergent opinion you're a troll. I'm starting to really understand how the CP lemmings fall into line. But wait! I don't have a divergent opinion on this one. Everybody so far concedes there is a problem with the commute traffic flow coming into the City.

Toll roads have been around for 2700 years. I'm proposing a toll road and it hurts your feelings? What the hell is wrong with you?

BTW, does Dion just follow you around and click thanks on everything you post or does he have a voice of his own?

Again, this may have something more to do with the dysfunctional CP lemming culture of being overly PC than with me personally. Plus if you think that about my posts you haven't read them carefully. I'm a problem solver, not a complainer.

I've only posted on this forum for a few days and I've already figured out who the village idiot is. I'm actually quite impressed.

A massive toll that targets certain users and not others, based solely on their address, and imposes substantial costs for the use of a public good is almost certainly unconstitutional.

Well I would suggest that you leave all us lemmings behind you in the dust of your undieing wisdom, but everyone seems to enjoy having you around to laugh at you

That makes you a Troll, but you already know that. I am also not objecting to the idea of a toll road. I am merely stating how insane the idea is to toll people only from satellite communities. But you knew that too.

To access these roads from the northern edge of the city, you have to get through the Beddington bottleneck. Drivers on the Northeast at least have Barlow as an alt route.

There are quite a few ways to get to centre without taking beddington.

You have to be kidding. If calling people that band together against logical arguments lemmings is ban-worthy, the PC nature of this site has gone way overboard. These people are unfairly jumping all over the manner in which I say things rather than the content of what I say. Frankly I've been surprised I haven't received any mod support in any of my posts.

In fact, I would appreciate if the mods would request these people cease calling me a troll, as it is simply their dismissive way of drawing attention away from my arguments.

Not to mention most of the lemmings (btw shouldn't the filter be picking up this bad word?) have completely embelished everything I've said and taken all of my arguments out of context to paint me with a brush that suggests I'm crazy. If you've been following my posts, you're completely out of line with threatening me with a ban. If you've been following the commentary on my posts, then I can see where you're coming from and would appreciate if you would relook at what I've been saying.
