Default The next "big" European import?

Stumbled across this guy on "the other board".

Mats Zuccarello Aasen

With the success of some of the late European signings Bruunstrom and Leino, perhaps this Norweigan will get signed? He seems to be putting up great numbers in the SEL this year and has received a lot of praise from teamates and even Forsberg who thinks he could be a top 6 forward in the NHL by next year.

Thoughts? Perhaps one of our Swedish correspondents could shed more light?

dunno about "big" european import, he is very undersized for the NHL (5'7", 167lbs). dont know if even in the new NHL if he could make the jump. maybe if he was prepared to start the year in the AHL to adapt to the physical game

Sarcasm is a little lost in translation I guess.

As for wether or not he can hack it in the NHL, there are quite a few guys who have made the jump despite being undersized: Nathan Gerbe, Nigel dawes, Steve Sullivan, Martin St Louis, Theo Fleury...

This guy has a better PPG at the same age than Forsberg and Zetterberg.
