sutter that low? Wow. As Bingo says, the guy will be an NHLer, not a star necessarily, but will be an NHLer some day.
This list isn't that impressive to be honest. Not a lot of thought went into it.

Frankly, this is nothing more than spam.
How long would a link to a D'Arcy McGrath blog entry last on the other forum?

I wouldn't consider it spam either. I am absolutely no way affiliated with HF and haven't been for over three years.

Actually, it's somebody named Brad Gardner's opinion. As long as folks are clear on that.

I like that three of our BOTTOM 6 have played in the NHL this year and another one (Pelech) almost made the team out of camp.
Meanwhile a guy who will probably never play pro hockey again is #12.
It's almost as if this came from a site where teenage fanclubs rule and accurate, objective hockey discussion falls by the wayside.... The only time I've ever gone to that site for anything, was when I was trying to find juicy rumors about Carey Price's extracurricular activities in order to scare this habs fan I know.

Looking at their list doesn't seem to bother me the way it does some of you. The number grade is how they view talent, it's the letter grade that matters in most of these cases. In Sutters case the 5.5 means that he's a 3rd/4th line grinder, but his B means that he's on the right track. In Ryders case the 7 suggests he could be a second liner, his F suggests that he won't be.
It's not necessarily how I'd rank prospects, but it's hardly worth getting up in arms about it.

One can only surmise that these biannual lists are randomly cobbled together by the utterly clueless, or purposely so in order to generate outrage.
Nonetheless, these "Top 20" (or even Top 10) lists are rather silly. One, maybe three concensus guys at the top and the rest wild stabs.
Darryl Sutter was on the radio last night expressing contentment with his overall organizational depth. I'm pretty sure he doesn't read the Hockey News, or even know what the hell "hockeysfuture" is.

The fact is Brad Gardner probably hasn't seen most of the Flames prospects. No mention of specifics and he doesn't seem to know who Ryan Wilson is.

Despite the constant rotation of authors, these Flames lists are always a dog's breakfast. Might as well hand the reigns over to that "Dallas Flames Fan" feller
Hockey's Future is the last place to look for discussion of Flames prospects (which is actually hilarious given that's their supposed raison d'etre).

Aulie at 3 and Pelech at 16? Aulie is looking like a good prospect, but seriously? The thing that bothers me about these lists is that no research is done, if Aulie wasn't at the world juniors, and had been having an even better season than he's having (I know a stupid hypothetical situation) he probably would be lucky to make this top 20.
I'm also curious how long it will take for Puustinen to be removed from that list, every time these lists get put out someone comments on HF that he isn't under contract, but apparently the people who write these don't even take the time to see what is said about their lists. If he isn't good enough to earn a contract chances are he isn't our 8th best prospect.

Yeah... I know... read that about 2 minutes after. That's what I get for making such an absolute statement. I hadn't heard a whisper about him since he was suspended from the team and assumed he had gone back to Nfld again.

If Dan Ryder is signing a tryout contract with the Providence Bruins, either the Flames have released him from his existing contract or it's a precursory "loan" to the parent Boston Bruins pending a formal transaction. In either scenario, he's done as a Flame.

On Irving: "His lead on the other Flames prospects in net is dwindling."
Really? Come on guy. Irving is really coming into his own at QC and is easily the Flames top goalie prospect. Since the start of the year Keetley has lost his game while Irving has been steadily improving. Stating that his lead is dwindling is utterly ridiculous.

Yeah, I like how it said he was losing his job. Wasn't he stealing starts from Keetley before he got sent down?
