My apologies, I am posting from work and didn't catch on to this part. I was under the impression that the OP may have created a problem by posting dissatisfaction about Kramer service on CP. That's what I was pissed about.

How does this statement, which was in the e-mail to Kramer Mazda, imply that CP is involved in MJM's dispute or that CP is being used as a tool to threaten the business?
MOD EDIT: Don't repost something we deleted.
All that was being done was to inform Kramer Mazda that they have a problem with one of their current customers, who at the moment, is extemely unhappy with Kramer Mazda. It was also letting Kramer Mazda know that his complaint is being read, and commented on, by members of CP.
I understand Jiri, where you are coming from, but in this case I think you are over reacting. By advising Kramer Mazda of the problem, it is giving them the opportunity to respond to the complainant(s).

Combine that with what I discussed above, along with the fact that my Mazda has had it's door kicked in twice due to a defect in the door known by criminals nationally and it's pretty obvious as to why I've about had enough with that dealership. The car itself, runs fine and has had very few issues. Quite satisfied with it, just not the way i've been handled since the first day I bought it.

What is the defect? Just wondering because I too own a Mazda... a 2008 Tribute.

Only affected Mazda 3. Basically you could open the door lock by punching it in a certain spot in the driver's side door causing every second Mazda 3 you see to have a huge dent on the driver's side (they actually kicked my entire door in once, and put a huge dent in it the second time).
Mazda corrected the problem through a recall but that didn't change the fact that criminals are still kicking/punching the cars hoping to get one that hasn't been repaired.

Why do you need to mention CP in your email? Can't you just describe it as a "very popular local hockey forum" or something?

Its not your place to decide what risks this site can take on unless you are prepared to pay for any costs that come out of it. Are you?
You directly involved calgarypuck in your email in the dispute by implying that by not satisfying their customer they would face some sorts of backlash from this community and lose customers.
I dont know how we can be anymore clear. Leave us out of it.

Any problems i had with a dealership i've always gone to the service manager first. If i got no satisfaction i went directly to the owner. In all my cases either of the one rectified my problem.
Could you not go to a different Mazda dealership to get work done?

Just an update guys. Mazda, their service manager, actually called me up this afternoon to discuss my issues. He was not very pleased with the way myself and my car have been handled. They are going to make sure everything is made right, and never want to see something like this happen again. He was a very nice man and I am more than pleased with his response. He obviously would have preferred if I had contacted him personally, but was very understanding (I would have contacted him personally but I had some bad experiences in the past. Obviously Kramer now has way better people in place).
So, Kramer Mazda is A-OK with me on a go forward basis and if I continue to receive such future in the service I would definitely purchase another car there because as I said in a previous post, there have been no issues with the car itself.

Glad to hear everything is ok now. I personally have always gotten good service from Kramer Mazda.
.... and Jiri, sorry that you feel that my good hearted intentions put CP at risk.

Because I linked the thread in my e-mail to Kramer. Kramer was getting some very negative publicity from a very unhappy customer, and I felt they deserved the chance to respond and correct the situation...
WHICH THEY DID.... BRAVO TO KRAMER MAZDA

Actually, it is unclear where Canada stands with regards to anonymous postings and who is liable for them.
Quote:
"There's a question in Canadian law that has yet to be resolved. We are very fuzzy on when hateful or abusive comments are posted on a blog commentary if the owner of that blog is to be held responsible for that. There are precedents on either side and we don't quite know where Canada stands," he said during the Q discussion.
"Other countries have said, 'No, absolutely not. If you want to have these healthy conversations, website owners need to be free of any kind of liability for that,'" he added.

(this wasn't to further derail the thread, just to point out that there is indeed risk for CP. Until someone goes to court or a definitive position is made clear, no one is really sure where the onus lies.

We need to be one of those countries. I agree with this statement in full.

Four bloggers and one website/message board has already been sued for libel.

As do I - I'm a firm believer that the Internet should be the last frontier of true free speech. However, as we move along I expect we will see more regulation...which is sad.

Crap. Is there a statute of limitations on interweb libel?

We got ours repaired as soon as we found out. Like you, didn't stop the JO would-be thieves from punching in the side of our car.

I can see this going 2 ways - either the website is liable for comments (with some sort of due diligence clause) or websites will be required to maintain logs to allow law enforcement to track down the original people who did the post (which is a little easier on a website where you need to log in vs a site that allows true anonymity).
