I'm going to take LW KEVIN STEVENS.

Kevin Stevens (born April 15, 1965 in Brockton, Massachusetts) is a retired NHL hockey player and current NHL scout for the Pittsburgh Penguins. He is best known for being the left wing for Mario Lemieux during the Penguins' Stanley Cup Championships in 1991 and 1992 seasons. During his career, he played with the Pittsburgh Penguins, Boston Bruins, Los Angeles Kings, New York Rangers and Philadelphia Flyers.

After a year of jumping back and forth from the National Hockey League (NHL) and the Muskegon Lumberjacks of the International Hockey League (IHL), Stevens became one of the top left wingers and power forwards in the league over the next four seasons. He had four-straight seasons of at least 40 goals and 80 points from 1990–94 and surpassed 50 goals and 100 points in back to back seasons of 1991–92 and 1992–93. In the 1991–92 NHL season, Stevens became only the 3rd person in NHL history to outscore Wayne Gretzky in the regular season, though he still finished 2nd in points to teammate Mario Lemieux. His 123 points that year also set a record for the most points by an American-born player and a left wing in one season. During the Pittsburgh Penguins back-to-back Stanley Cup seasons of 1990–91 and 1991–92, Stevens was the only Penguin to play in every regular season and playoff game.

On May 14, 1993, the Penguins were playing the New York Islanders in game seven of the Patrick Division Finals when Kevin Stevens suffered a terrible injury. Early in the first period, Stevens skated in and attempted to hit Islanders defenceman Rich Pilon, but instead was met by Pilon's visor which promptly knocked Stevens unconscious. He fell and hit the ice face first, and was unable to use his hands or arms to cushion the blow. Stevens then needed extensive reconstructive surgery on his face. Doctors cut an incision below his hairline from ear-to-ear, which was later closed with over 100 stitches, peeled back his skin and reassembled the bones in Stevens face with the use of metal plates. Stevens came back to have one more strong season for the Penguins in 1993–94 (41 goals, 47 assists), before being traded the next year.

Stevens was sent to the Boston Bruins in 1995 along with Shawn McEachern for Glen Murray and Bryan Smolinski. After being traded from the Penguins, Stevens never again reached the success that he had while in Pittsburgh. After "disappointing" in Boston with 23 points in 41 games, he was traded to the Los Angeles Kings. After a dismal season, he was traded to the New York Rangers in 1997, where he experienced several solid seasons, but failed match the expectations levied on him when he played for the Penguins.

During the 1999–2000 season, Stevens would hit rock bottom in his NHL career. Not only did he rarely see the ice during this season, but after a game against the St. Louis Blues, he was caught in a St. Louis motel with a prostitute and crack cocaine, supposedly bought with stolen meal money from the Rangers. After this humiliating event, Stevens entered the NHL Substance Abuse Program. After being released from the program, he played a brief stint with the Philadelphia Flyers before being traded to the Pittsburgh Penguins for a second time. After one decent season and another season where he rarely received playing time, he retired from the NHL in 2002.

Sleeper pick of the draft!

By this time, he had already left Stockholm's Djurgarden and joined the Winnipeg Jets in the newly formed World Hockey Association. In what was perhaps the happiest time in his sports career, Hedberg played with teammate Ulf Nilsson on the same line as the legendary Canadian hockey player Bobby Hull?a line that was then considered the best in the WHA. Hull often stated that he'd never had partners who had mastered the fine points of hockey as well as the two Swedes, Hedberg and Nilsson. Bobby Hull scored his 1,000th career goal while playing in the lineup with the two Scandinavians.

With our next selection team Halifax Explosion is happy to welcome Defenceman:

Harry Cameron

Cameron was considered one of the first great rushing and scoring defencemen. He scored 88 goals in 121 games in the NHL. He was also famous for his "curved shot" similar to that of today's curved hockey sticks, although he played with a straight blade. He was the first player in NHL history to achieve what was later called a "Gordie Howe hat trick", doing so on December 26, 1917. In later years, he moved to Vancouver, British Columbia where he resided when he died in 1953. He was inducted posthumously into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1962.

The Beantown Bruins are proud to select as #4 RW Joey Kocur

Known for his physical play, Kocur is one of the most penalized players in NHL history amassing a career total of 2519 penalty minutes in stints with the Detroit Red Wings, the New York Rangers and the Vancouver Canucks. Kocur retired at the end of the 1998–1999 season.
Kocur is best known for his devastating right-hand punch, compared by some players to a train. In fact, since he so frequently hit players with his right hand and often landed blows on their helmets or teeth, his right hand was often in quite poor condition.
Pound for pound he was one of the strongest fighters in the NHL. In an interview with Donald Brashear, Brashear described how Kocur had cracked his helmet with his punches, and though his helmet had absorbed most of the blow, he still felt serious pain in his gums, even on the other side of his face, leaving him unable to eat for a day or so. His punches often seriously injured players, such as Brad Dalgarno of the New York Islanders, whose orbital bone was fractured by Kocur.

Cyclones are pleased to cook up something different, Our RW-3: Bill Cook

William Osser Cook was considered by many to be the greatest right winger ever to play the game. He was a remarkably gifted and rugged competitor who served as the catalyst on the New York Rangers' famous Bread Line with his brother Bun and Frank Boucher. Cook's input was crucial to the Rangers' first two Stanley Cup triumphs in 1928 and 1933.

Born in Brantford, Ontario, Cook grew up farther east, in the Kingston area. He learned to skate on the nearby Rideau Canal and made his junior hockey debut with the Kingston Frontenacs in 1916. His play impressed the local fans, who compared him with the legendary Scotty Davidson.
Following the Great War, Cook returned to Kingston and suited up with the Frontenacs' intermediate outfit. His inspired play helped the team reach the OHA finals that year. The next season he led the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds to the championship of the Northern Ontario Hockey Association.

Cook ventured away from the east to make his professional debut in 1921-22 with the Saskatoon Sheiks of the Western Canada Hockey League. During his five years in Saskatoon, the team's name changed to the Crescents and he attained monumental status by winning the league's scoring championship twice. This included a personal high of 31 goals in 30 games during the last year of the Western Hockey League in 1925-26.

In preparing for their initial NHL season in 1926, the New York Rangers signed Cook from the defunct WHL. In addition to being the first skater signed officially by the club, he became the team's first captain and the foundation on which the club was built. Fittingly, he scored the first goal in franchise history on November 16, 1926, when the Broadway Blueshirts shut down the Montreal Maroons 1-0 to begin their NHL life in style.

In these early days of the franchise, Cook was joined by his younger brother Bun and center Frank Boucher to form one of hockey's most successful forward combinations. This trio dominated opposing defenses for several years with their precision passing and relentless effort. The elder Cook led all scorers in 1926-27 with 37 points and was runner-up in the Hart Trophy voting.

The Bread Line led the Rangers to their first Stanley Cup triumph in 1928 by accounting for every one of the team's goals in a thrilling five-game final series with the Montreal Maroons. New York reached the finals again the following season, but they came up short against the Boston Bruins, who won their inaugural championship in a two-game sweep in the best-of-three finals.

Cook and his linemates played well despite their loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs in the 1932 Stanley Cup finals. They were in top form the next year, with Cook leading the way with his second scoring title. Once again he finished runner-up in the Hart Trophy selection, this time to Bruins star rearguard Eddie Shore. And the Rangers exacted their revenge on the Maple Leafs by capturing their second Stanley Cup by 3-1 in the best-of-five finals. To cap an extraordinary year, Cook scored the dramatic first-ever NHL Stanley Cup-winning overtime goal.

"The Original Ranger" continued to register impressive numbers for New York until his retirement in 1936-37. On top of his two scoring championships, Cook was selected as the right wing on the NHL First All-Star Team three times and the Second Team once. His 229 regular-season goals accounted for nearly one-fifth of the Rangers' total during the club's first decade of play.

A successful tenure as coach awaited Cook after he retired as a player. He guided the AHL's Cleveland Barons to the 1939 and 1941 Calder Cup championships during his six years at the helm that began in 1937-38. In 1950 he coached the Minneapolis Millers to the Paul W. Loudon Trophy in the United States Hockey League. He also coached the Denver Falcons of the same league the following season before returning to Saskatoon.
He was coaching the Saskatoon Quakers of the Pacific Coast Hockey League in 1951-52 when the New York Rangers turned to him to help revitalize their sagging fortunes. Cook couldn't refuse, since the appeal came from the general manager of the Blueshirts, his old linemate Frank Boucher. Cook spent just under two seasons coaching his old club before permanently retiring from the game at the conclusion of the 1952-53 season.
His immense contribution to the New York franchise didn't go unnoticed. On January 10, 1986, just three months before he passed away, the New York Rangers presented him with their alumni association award before a cheering crowd at Madison Square Garden. Cook is a member of Canada's Sports Hall of Fame and was elected to the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1952.
