These numbers you guys keep bringing up, are they not just the specific guard that is used or not used on a hair trimmer? I shave my head with no guard, but I have a #1, a #2, a #3 and so on.

I think so and the number corresponds to 8s of a inch in length left i believe.

To an extent I agree--but if someone wants hair as short as a number 1-3 is going to get you with the clippers, that's pretty much impossible to acheive with scissors, you just can't get that close. Even scissor over comb, you're probably not going to get closer than 1/4 inch, and it's going to be much harder to get the exact length that you would with clippers and a guard.

Most guys get a numbered guard on the sides (usually somewhere between 2-4), and then scissors on the top, and then you blend the area in between. Of course every person is different, but having worked in the industry for 3 years, I've noticed a few similarities.

I'd suggest alcohol, but from your latest posts, I'm just going to assume that you already found yourself something to consume!! Cheers!

I don't want to drink. If I was drunk I'd probably phone her...

Sorry to hear that. The first little while is the hardest part, but things will start to feel better with time. At least that's what I am finding. Seems like there's a few of us that have gone through breakups lately, so if you ever need to vent, I'm willing to listen!

Is it wrong that break ups just don't bother me.

I don't get upset, or even miss em once they're gone, they're just gone.

Yeah, I think this is better advice than banging a hood rat... mostly because it wont leave you feeling itchy and needing a trip to the clinic after.

I don't know what to expect from the legendary team-up of William Shatner and Jackie from That 70s Show either.

Seriously, who did they pay off to use the title for this completely unrelated straight to video straight to dumpster movie? It has absolutely nothing to do with the actual American Psycho (in my top 5 favorite movies) or the famous book.

Sit in the dark playing an out of tune piano with a glass of scotch and a cigarette and slowly fall asleep.

Well, that's what I would do. But yeah, the going for the run thing is a good idea. You need to replace the current "feeling bad" chemicals in your brain with some other ones like adrenaline/endorphins.

Wow, I was just told the new place I'm moving too is 1 block away from the San Jose Sharks practice facility.

The Oscars and the other billion award shows out there are ######ed. An industry that puts out maybe 10% good movies should not so consistently congratulate themselves. If I had a 90% fail rate I would be fired from everything I ever tried.

The Sharks practice rink is a nice facility. Its the only NHL practice rink I've been to that has a pub inside with a nice warm fire going and big screen TV's showing hockey. Its huge, FOUR RINKS!
