I dunno.. Shows like Life, 30 Rock, The Office, Heroes (arguable), Chuck, etc are pretty quality.

If I look at my PVR timers, I bet most of the shows are on NBC. The only others I can think of are House, Bones, and Life on Mars (SUCH A COOL SHOW)

And see, I have two NBC shows I think. The Office, and Law and Order SVU. I still don't think it would be that difficult to move things around though.

Back to Conan...

Old time Baseball, one of my favourite bits on Late Night.

Conan had Jerry Seinfeld, and showed his trips to Ireland and Finland.

The Jimmy Fallon promos seem really awkward.

Was Fallon laughing at himself during them?

At first I thought the hiring of Fallon was stupid. He always kinda bugged me on SNL, the way he'd constantly break character by laughing and staring at the camera. He seems like the kind of guy who has alot of arrogance. But after catching him on Leno and later Conan a couple weeks back, I'm actually hoping it works out for him. He seemed so nervous and excited to take over, its exrtemely clear he recognizes what an honour it is to take over for Conan O'Brien. He even said he got Lazik(sp?) because he doesn't think its appropriate for a talkshow host to wear glasses. There was alot of sincerety to the interview, you could feel his butterflies.

I'm not saying he's for sure going to work out. But he just won me over a little in terms of him taking the job. At least he's very respectful of the position(and seemed humbled anyways), and appears to be doing everything in his power to make it work. That's all you can ask for. I'll give him a chance and watch a few. It'll probably take him a year or two to get comfortable but that's expected.

As for Conan last night, haha I loved that Finland sketch, they're bringin back all the classics. I love Jerry Seinfeld and I basically grew up on his show, but it makes me laugh how G-rated his stand-up is.

i've a split opinion on Conan. while i really enjoy most of his pre-recorded bits, his live stuff i don't like at all. i never laugh at his monologues and i get very bored at how much time he kills just dancing around and trying to play up the crowd. his interviews are also hit and miss, really depends on the guest

The Daily Show and Colbert Report though cram a lot more content into half the time, and even when they have boring guests Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert can carry an interview by themselves if need be. i always thought Conan would be a lot better if he broke away from the standard talk show format and just did whatever he wanted, though going to the Tonight Show it looks like it'll have to adhere even more to the standard

Great show tonight, they replayed my favorite clip, old timey baseball. Too bad Andy didn't come out with the year 2000 though.

Loved the end, he got choked up talking about Lorne and the fans. You could tell how moving it was for him. And his word that he won't grow up for 11:30

I enjoyed last night's show. Conan has always come across as a very sincere guy that knows how lucky he is. The entire show last night was perfectly done.

I have rarely watched late night TV, and when I have, it's usually only been David Letterman. Now I regret not having watched more Conan over the years. Hilarious every time I've tuned in. I think I'll have to make an effort to watch him on the Tonight Show.

That Star Wars premiere with Triumph last night was absolutely hilarious.

the old time baseball clip they played last night was classic....when Conan put on the uniform/moustache and started with the "old timey" trash talking, I lost it.

Touching monologue at the end with Conan thanking his staff, writers, and fans over the years. His acknowledgement of Letterman and Leno was classy.

As far as the last show itself, there was no way they could have ended Late Night without Andy Richter. I was dissapointed they didn't do any new material (like a final "in the year 2000"), but they had a lot of great clips instead. The White Stripes performance was a bit bland (and I say that as a huge fan of theirs). I expected something more uptempo and energetic but I think they were trying to be nostalgic or something.

My wife observed that Conan neglected to say anything about Jimmy Fallon. Anyone else find that odd?

WTF was that that the White Stripes did? That was a song? Seems to me that Jack White has a lot of talent, but the girl in his band (I thought she was a drummer??) is useless.

I wish they showed this great clip with Andy

And I agree with both of you. I like the White Stripes, but that was awful.

Yeah, that's actually quite weird. Lorne I assume is still the executive producer for Fallon's show.

Conan is a man
All men hate Jimmy Fallon
Thus Conan hates Jimmy Fallon

And yeah - I hate Jimmy Fallon too.

Does anyone know if there is going to be a repeat showing of the final show??

I've been loving Conan this week. I watched the show religiously for a while growing up, and still caught it whenever I could. Great to relive the great moments of the show. I was unable to watch the final show last night so I PVRed it to watch tonight, and then find out someone turned it off so it didn't record.

I need to see this episode. Does anyone know someplace online I could find it?? This sucks.
