Terrific. I'll be making the pilgrimage down there this summer to watch him play. He's been my favourite player since I started watching baseball and I've never seen him play live.

You're probably one of the 200,000 fans he's expected to bring to Safeco this summer.

In an era where so many people are taking steroids, Griffey did not. My favorite baseball player of all time and IMO the best swing in baseball.

Awesome...I heard yesterday that he was about to sign with ATL (to be closer to his residence) and thought it would've been much more appropriate to return to SEA.

I remember when he came to Calgary with the M's when they played the Cannons in an exhibition game.

I’m always amazed these sportscasters and announcers can call the game with McDavid’s **** in their mouths all the time.

Yeah, apparently after the rumor was published in an Atlanta paper that he had signed there, the talks with the Braves stopped came to a halt.

I'm excited. Should be thrilling watching him play in Seattle again.

Hey now! Cincinnati was always my #1, Seattle my #2, so needless to say, I was excited to see Griff in Cincy.

Good to see him back where he belongs. I'll be out there in early Sept. Who's coming with me???

Seattle treated him with a lot of class when he returned for a series back in '07:

Cmon Nicker! Don't be a sour puss because he didn't go to the Bravos!!!

I may just be there, Moe. I'm a big Griffey fan. My grandfather was an old school Red Sox fan. There are only two guys he said who had the same sweet swing. Jr was one, Olerud was the other.

I'l be there for the Angels series 8/31-9/2. I'm going to watch my college football team put 50+ up on the Huskies on 9/5. Oh, and to visit the in-laws as well.

LSU-Infinity Washington-0.

Will Clark had my other favorite swing besides Griffey.

Saw a few games in Seattle in the early 90's when the Jays won the East 3 straight years and the Series twice and Griffey was always the best player. He wasn't real popular when he left the Mariners to go back home, but I suspect he'll be welcomed back seeing as he's pretty much considered the only non cheater of his era.

And Jay Buhner while we're at it. Haha I can't even shear that guy's name without thinkin about Frank Costanza's classic rant at Big Stein.

...and Tino Martinez too. What a stacked team that was.

I have to agree with ya, dood. I am not a huge baseball fan but I could watch Griffey crank out homers everyday. Sweetest swing ever!!!
May have to take in a game.
